2 5850s on rig #1, 2 5830s on rig #2, 2 5830s on rig #3.

I also have a 7970 on my main PC which I was mining on, but had some odd artifact issues and temperature was really high even at 100% fan, I've decided to stop mining on this one because a few dollars a day isn't worth the risk of killing my 7970.

what is your total Hashrate ?
Also, why don't you mined at Stock Clock on 7970 with memory clock 700Mhz or lower..........
Fan speed should no go over 70 % other wise you will burn out faster!

I might go back to mining on the 7970, but currently shuffling my PCs around a bit.

Total hashrate is is around 1600MH/s. But today, I switched one miner to litecoins. going to do another 24 trial and see if it's not a better value to mine litecoins.

i've come to the conclusion with all the cards that i have and please verify.

that with the 69xx and 79xx cards, it's better for me to mine litecoins.
but with my 58xx, and 5970 cards it's better to mine bitcoins.

with the current going rates.

anyone else come to these conclusions with testing on thier various cards? (that's if they have these various cards.)

Dang, thought about switching over to LTC last week. If I had, I would have made quite a good profit today. Anyways, switched two 7970's and two 7950's over to LTC tonight. Will see how stable it is.

Mining litecoins is certainly interesting. My two 7970's with cgminer do ~580kh and ~540kh. Exact same config copied over to my other computer with two 7950's gives ~590kh and 570kh. Makes no sense. All 4 cards clocked at 1000mhz. New AMD drivers on the 7970 computer while 7950 computer has 6 months old drivers. I messed around with various settings try to get the 7970 performance up. No success. I would like to get them up to the ~700kh range some people are reporting.

Yep 7970s are beasts at LTC mining...you should get 650+kh/s easily. I'm getting 550kh/s on my 7950s at only 925/1250 using cgminer.

Mining LTC, even with only getting 190k/hash as opposed to 250MH bitcoin mining, the LTC mining is far more profitable for me. Of course this is just based on the current value, which i'm not convinced isn't a bubble, but I'm going to switch to LTC for a bit and see where things go.

I think that if LTC goes up much more (to say, over $20), then it'll have a very negative effect on BTC's value.

Somebody here said something about how LTC just is not as secure/futureproof as BTC are - I forgot exactly what it was...

It's not, simply based on the difficulty of the network. It's about 6000 times easier to mine than BTC, which in turn means it's 6000X cheaper to obtain the necessary hashing power to perform a 51% attack on it.

That said, increasing value will encourage more miners to switch which in turn pushes difficulty up. In time it might be closer to the security of bitcoin.

My dual 7950's are doing 1200+ kH/s, so about 10 coins per day at current difficulty. I'm not trying to time the market, I am just moving each day's production over to BTC-e and trading for BTC or USD, depending on the spot price.

LTC is at almost $3 USD right now, quite crazy!

Not a bad side business for my gaming rig while I am at work or sleeping...

LTC is $4 now, nearly double since I bought some at $2.20 a few hours ago. I guess I should have bought more!
