I have 2 spare rigs with a 7970 lying around.
I can set the 2600k or 3770k to HT off and everything to stock.
Could someone post a spoon feed step by step on how to start mining doge coins?
I could start tomorrow...I have never mined anything just started reading yesterday...

Why do you keep calling it DODGE?

lol sorry I try my best to leave the D out as often as possible but sometimes I just can't resist the automation.

I've been lucky to be able to mine doge all day, minus a couple small hiccups on netcodepool. Just wish I had a better hash rate

Add a second or third video card.

I can't believe I'm getting such good hash rate from the 7850 I got for under 100 bucks...

Just follow any cgminer guide really. You can use the guide on wemineltc.com since it's pretty damn good and then just edit your .bat file with the different stratum serverort and add workers on the other pool depending on which coin you want to mine and which pool you want to join.

Knock yourself out:
https://www.weminecryptos.com/forum...om-scratch-both-cgminer-and-guiminer-version/

For the CPUs I would recommend you look into primecoin. It's even easier to setup CPU mining than GPU mining because you don't have to fool around with a bunch of settings, it's pretty straight forward. Input pool info, worker info, payment address, get a wallet. OC CPU for higher performance. Viola!

To give you an example... here is my primecoin miner (primeminerx 64 bat file):

primeminer_x64.exe -poolip=54.200.248.75 -poolport=1337 -pooluser=AJJ2EjLLYFjNVXG1kBSrHPqZHQ6Juoxt9D -poolpassword=PASSWORD -genproclimit=4 -poolfee=1
pause
Here is my cg miner bat file for my two 7870s:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
pause
G:\Downloads\guiminer-scrypt_win32_binaries_v0.04\cgminer\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us3.wemineltc.com:3334 -u nwo75200.2 -p 1010 -w 256 -I 20 -g 1 -v 1 --thread-concurrency 15500 --config G:\Downloads\guiminer-scrypt_win32_binaries_v0.04\cgminer\cgminer.conf

Edit: oh and also, you definitely want to leave HT on for CPU mining and overclock (if possible).

I can't figure out of Doge coin is an actual contender, or if it is the "Jump The Shark" moment for altcoins. Maybe a mix of both

You can lower the multiplier all the way down to 1.6 GHz, disable all but one core, and undervolt CPU-related voltages because the CPU will barely even do anything while GPU mining.

You have to set up the dogecoin client, and then you have to set up the miner program. The client lets you receive and send coins to other clients. In my experience with the Windows client, the client will remain out of sync if you do not copy the program's conf file to the Dogecoin folder in C:\Users\"yourusername"\AppData\Roaming.

The miner program does the mining; it will connect to the pool server and make the GPU do its work.

Is it just me or is literally every pool down for Doge? I can't find a single one that seems to have an active Mh/s.

Thanks!
So which is more productive?
CPU or GPU mining?

If the currency allows both types, like Litecoin or Dogecoin, the GPU mining with an AMD GPU that isn't totally weak like a 5450 will be faster than CPU mining. Bitcoin allows both too, but the dedicated hardware like ASICs make mining through the GPU unprofitable and trying to mine Bitcoin.

I'm running strong at 2.2Mh/s on netcodepool right now. Cgminer has been bouncing between poolerino, luckyminers, and netcodepool all day, but it's been mining away continuously.

Btw, I typed in DODGE again, but this time I caught myself on time!

Should I transfer my doge coin earnings to my coinedup wallet or official wallet?

Thanks!

GPU mining has way more potential. CPU mining is just giving your CPU something to do while your GPUs are busy and earning a few bucks/coins along the way. The focus is definitely on GPU mining.

My dashboard is up:
http://doge.netcodepool.org/index.php?page=dashboard

It crashed earlier, so I have it only running on 1 rig now overnight. Will change the other rigback to doge tomorrow while I can monitor it.

Not necessarily. I get about 100kH/s on my 4GHz i7 4770k. A 5450 is only capable of 20kH/s if that is even an accurate number:
https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison#Laptop_.2F_Mobile_.2F_Integrated

But I see your point, a low-midrange GPU will most likely outperform most desktop CPUs in terms of mining performance.

Poolerino is dead. Or so it seems. And netcode isn't accepting new users

I'd transfer it to the official wallet.

Actually, if you are mining primecoin with your CPU, you would make more money by stopping.

Ever since the primecoin difficulty went up last night, deducting the electricity costs, you wouldnt make any money.

I had been mining primecoin for the last two days, but since last night it has practically become worthless to mine primecoin.

I am gonna let my CPU run 1 last night today and I'll evaluate the output tommorow.
Most probably I ll stop the way it is looking right now

Rumour is this drop in XPM/h is due the increased difficulty + a lot of protoshare miners moving to prime coin.

Netcode pretty much increased to 10x its previous worker/MH/s count due to everyone fleeing the unreliable pools. I look forward to Luckyminer reopening after they migrate servers.

I'm waiting to get my next payout once I pass 3 XPC, then I plan to stop. It seems insanely slow now even though I have been mining for less than a week. Not only that, but my primes/sec went down about 50% on both of my CPUs... Not sure if that is related to the difficulty spike?

What would you recommend for CPU mining?

I'd transfer it to the official wallet.

OK, cool, thanks. I think I will go with that then.

I am also waiting for my 3.01 XPM payout.

Actually the primes/sec dont matter.
They slightly raised the rewards for the regular chains to balance the decrease in primes/sec. But I am having trouble finding even the shortest chains.

For CPU mining, I am looking at MEMORY COIN.

It just started today and is currently in sort of a pre mine phase.

It will go full blast on Tuesday. Waiting to see how it turns out.

It would be great to get on it from the start and makes some coins before a lot of people jump on it, increasing the difficulty.

This made me lol. I transferred to my newly created coinedup account this morning, after only mining overnight and successfully traded and transferred over 2 LTC to my personal wallet. I would just set auto transfer to coined up and cash out to personal through there, but it's up to you.

Also, on a sad/funny note. I was lucky enough to get a netcodepool account yesterday, which I'm mining on right now, but I lost my randomly generated password to the account. When I try to reset my password I never get an email. ALSO, the max char limit on the email/username box is like 12 chars..... All of these pools, exchanges, etc. are so ghetto.....

At least I set an auto payout threshold! Phew...

But your primes/sec did go down right? Mine used to be 3.2-3.5k now they are down to 2k or less!

Thanks for the suggestion, I am definitely gonna look into Memory Coin tomorrow. Hopefully the setup for CPU mining will not be too difficult.

Doge difficulty up to 71... much difficulter.

I'm tempted to set up a pool server for it. If I could figure out how.

Do it!

I'll be the first one to join and bring at least 2 of my rigs if dogecoin stays profitable.

There has to be a guide out there somewhere!

I sent some doge to my coinedup address. After a few minutes of waiting, I went to check up on it and I noticed that my payment address on coinedup changed! Is that normal or did I screw something up? I see that my payment went through to my wallet though. Am I supposed to change the address on every payout or what?

I feel dumb now. I apparently already registered for the netcode pool... Lost 20h of Doge mining. Dumb me. Profit gone.

I went from 4500 prime/s to 2800 prime/s. Go figure.

Memory coin is really easy to mine as you just mine with the official wallet.
Waiting till a decent pool comes out.

Maybe we'll get some more miners too.

My sentence was a bit long, so I might need to rephrase it a bit. In essence, I said that one shouldn't be mining with a weak GPU like a 5450. AMD GPUs are stronger, with the exception of weak cards like the 5450. Even a

In other words, my point was that GPUs like a 5450 are terrible and that you need a decent GPU, which would be a 7770 or above, to make any sort of reasonable return mining.

I hate using wallet miners. Not very efficient. I was getting about half the primes/sec with the Primecoin wallet miner before I switched to a third party miner.

Are you mining it now or do we have to wait till Tuesday? I can't seem to find a link to download it...

I found:
http://memorycoin.org/downloads/memorycoin-qt-latest.zip
but it doesn't work

edit 2:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=370806.msg3961388#msg3961388 works.... super slow... but it works!
