LTC has been around a while doge is a new coin that pays huge amounts when a block is solved. When I started mining LTC was worth about .90 cents US. LTC has a strong network and a single LTC is holding strong at high 20.00 US.

Remember time is a huge factor and doge is fresh, keep those Doge iced for 6 months plus.

Yep, I should had taken my own advice and not sell it at 40 satoshi.. but i lost faith when it slumped down to 22 for so long, when it peaked to 40 I panic and sold.

Humans, all the same, emotional creatures.

I posted this before but it is relevant again. I mined 88,000 QRK with my CPU, took me almost 3 weeks. I sold a few here and there watched the market flatline low for 6 months.
I sold 2 weeks early before the boom in BTC and lost out on a 22 BTC (when BTC was 1k per BTC) profit from my quark coins. Never trade while buzzed on beer, that is when I dumped 55k QRK and lost out on my chance, lol.

Holy crap. It's trading at 186 satoshi right now and keeps on rising. Why was there such a huge jump in value over the past few days? I mean, nothing special happened right?

I'm so scared right now. I'm holding 412k DOGEs.

Anyone figured out how to use the --auto-gpu and --auto-fan options in cgminer properly?

I can get it to work but the setting I use in one .bat file applies itself to the GPU and so all the GPUs are run at the same settings. For example I have "--gpu-engine 450-950" for one of my cards, but the other card has "--gpu-engine 450-925", and when I run both at the same time, both GPUs end up running at 925Mhz. Same thing for target temp and fan settings. All other settings work as requested in each .bat file for individual GPUs. I have individual .bat files for each GPU (each GPU has it's own cgminer directory and renamed cgminer.exe files). I need different settings for different GPUs because one is watercooled and the other isn't.

Here is my .bat file for one of the cards:
middle-7950MSI.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://xxxxxxxxx -u xxxxxxxx -p xxxxxxx --device 1 --intensity 18 --worksize 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 24000 --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 450-925 --gpu-memclock 1250 --temp-target 72 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 46-90 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80 --gpu-powertune 20

The only difference for the other card is the .exe name, server settings, device ID, and the --gpu-engine setting which is at 450-950.

HELP!

EDIT: I think I figured it out. Putting "--remove-disabled" in the .bat file for each seems to have fixed the issue.

EDIT2: It still seems to load the GPU settings from each subsequent .bat file that is loaded, then slowly goes back to its own settings...except for mem clocks which have to be reset back...sigh...at least the core and fan speed settings are working, I think.

Doge was promoted on Chinese TV, as well as being the fundraising source enabling the Jamaican bobsled team to go to Sochi. Then there's the swiss ATM machine exchanging EU to BTC, LTC.. and DOGE. 3 coins only and they picked Doge as #3.

Good vibes.

Edit: HOLD your Doge. There is a 200 satoshi wall of massive BTC buy orders and now its flying up. It's going to hit 300 Satoshi today.

Wow... over 210 satoshis.

I am deeply regretting selling that 500K... Could have made 1.1 BTC off of it instead of 0.25 BTC.

Guys I just noticed that App Roaming Data thing is in my C Drive, which is my SSD. I need to synchronize the Bitcoin client and I do NOT want to install 15GB of "useless junk there." Is there a way to install it somewhere else? I've been using the QT wallets and I just noticed this now.

I know about the fund raiser and it was successful, but I didn't realize it had such an impact on the market value hours AFTER it happened. I swear this is a pump and dump

Edit: And it's crashed.

Use Electrum or Multibit for BTC client that doesn't need 15GB of blockchains. So send your coins to your new Electrum or Multibit address and stop using Bitcoin QT its so out dated.

What about the other ones? I want to delete them ASAP to get back the space on my SSD. Is there a way to install the data somewhere else?

Run the shortcut to litecoin-qt as:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Litecoin0.8\litecoin-qt.exe" -datadir=XXXXXX

(ie.)Change the shortcut properties to include that -datadir with XXXXXX being the full path of the directory where you want the blockchain data.

You can do that with other wallets and blockchains as well.

Can someone describe the most common pronunciation of Doge?

I imagine in my head DOH-GAY

but I have only read the word, never spoke or listened to it. I could also see doh-jay, dohjuh, dohguh, etc., but keep coming back to doh-gay.

I pronounce it in my head as dough-gee, with a hard "g". Lol

Sweet. Thanks for that.

Meteoric rise in doge has me thinking/looking at selling my single 7970 rig and taking proceeds to finance a dual 280 or 290 rig..... lol ... I know this is probably retarded though...

Looks like my 5850 finally died. Sad day. I mined 1000's of dollars of BTC and LTC with it over the past 3 years.

Edit: Ran it at 100% load and 90+ temps for close to two years 24x7

Doge is pronounced "dohj" (sort of like "doh" but slur a "j" towards the end) but frankly there are tons of people who pronounce it like "doggie" or whatever. So call it whatever you want!

Sad day indeed, like a proud warrior..

But why is it 90+ temps, my reference one is 3 years old, still pumping out 386kH/s, 45% fanspeed 75C tops.

Don't tell me you didn't clean out the dust once in awhile. Poor card!

With both cards mining, the 290x = 94C and the 7970 = 72C. Can the 290x be placed at the bottom and still be used as the primary card in gaming?

Today I'll be mining using these settings, don't want to freeze my machine remotely from work.

Card : MSI Gaming 290x, Hynix memory
Core: 860
Memory: 1250
Core voltage: no adjustment
Power tune: +50
Fan speed: auto (55%)
Intensity: 19
-w (?): 256
Thread-concurrency: 40200
Work Unit: ?
Hash rate: 670 kHash/s

I've seen the card as high as 900 khash using different settings, but I don't *think* it was able to mine very long before crashing.

I seem to have had rotten luck with cards lately, the 7970 6GB can only do 550khash max, now this 290x...

Newer settings after taking out the 7970, just have the single 290x in there.

Card : MSI Gaming 290x, Hynix memory
Core: 860
Memory: 1250
Core voltage: -20
Power tune: 0
Fan speed: auto (~50% @72C)
Intensity: 20
-w (?): 256
Thread-concurrency: 33792
Work Unit: ?
Hash rate: ~840 kHash/s
Mining with: GUIMiner-scrypt alpha 0.04 (uses cgminer 3.1.0)

On another note, my reference 7970 is doing 60 less khash in my old Q6600 rig at the same clock/mem speeds. (1100/1500)

Poor cooling. Stuffed slot to slot with other cards left it little room to get fresh air. Fan bearings have been going bad for about a year now too so it made terrible noise.

This is unbelievable. 225 now and with block reward halving soon, we may never see under 100 again. D:
The reward halves when?

Thanks guys for helping me out with the blocks and wallet clients earlier. Trying to risk half and dump half at 240 satoshi. Hope it works..

A week or two people were projecting February 14th. But with the recent surge in hash, it's probably going to be ~2 weeks now.

We're on block 65580. There's still over 34000 blocks left to go though. They'll get solved that quickly?!
