So I hate my computer/AMD drivers/GPU. It seems that when I stop mining and than restart it again, I get 30Kh/s. Only way to fix it is to restart computer. I've given up trying to troubleshoot this.

Edit: Edit: Does anyone have problems synchronizing the Foxcoin wallet? I can't keep an active connection to the network. Got only 1 active connection.

Alright... I'm going to mine Foxcoin for a little while with ONE of my miners and just hold the coins. I'm not making the same mistake I made with COYE. Anyone interested in COYE? I'll give you my 1.5 million coins for like 0.02 BTC if you want it.

I'll take a look @ mining XPM later on as well.

Are you running multiple cards? Are you just restarting the miner or are you gaming in between miner restarts? I've discovered that if I game in between miner restarts, my drivers crash every single time I try to re-open miner.

Also, the 30kH/s issue is sometimes related to the primary display card (usually top card). If I start up my PC with the display plugged into the bottom card, my top card gets 30kH/s :\

The problem affected me when I first started, but hasn't since I have made sure to close cgminer via "q" rather than the "x" in the window.

For those mining on middlecoin with 7870's and an intensity value of 20 what percentage of rejects are you getting? All 5 of my 7870's hover around 10% rejects at a ~400 kh/s mining rate. I've bumped the intensity down to 17 to see if it helps. Hash rate went down to ~380 kh/s with 17 for the intensity.

I don't mine on middlecoin, but 10% is a very high reject rate...

I'm mining doge on fast pool with my 7870s. I have about 2% reject rate on my I18 (395) card and 2.8% on my I19 card (405). I don't use 20 because it makes my drivers crash. I think I'm gonna lower the intensity to 18 on both cards.

Pressing q crashes my windows completely ever since I got my 290x.

It works fine for me.

I have been having issues trying to get (powered) risers working but that's another story.

Every time I have issues with cgminer I just copy the fresh unzipped folder and drop my config files to a fresh copy. It has saved me a lot of time since I think the binary files get messed up especially if you are messing around with the settings and cards.

OK. Finally setup a working NXT client on my main computer and transferred everything from my BTER account. Dudes... this client and setup is retarded. Took awhile to see the transactions as well. It looks like this was all written from scratch? Well kudos to the devs, but as usual the "smart" computer nerds don't realize that a complete lack of user-friendliness makes your product disliked by pretty much everybody. It's just really poorly done. Maybe create a setup.exe to automate installation. Maybe include a readme file with directions. F*&king idiots.

Also, I setup a XPM wallet on the same computer and set "setgenerate true -1" in the console from the debug menu. I see my CPU utilization is pretty much maxed out. Is this all it takes to mine? Am I just solo mining? So I won't receive a payout until I find a "block" myself? 28 weeks behind on the block chain....... zzzzzzzzzzzz

This was the java client? You may want to disable java in the browser since it's the most targeted way for malware to get into your PC.

I tried it for a bit but didn't get any coins, and from my understanding you can't mine coins without owning coins (and those with more coins reap more rewards). It's essentially a pyramid scam and I personally hope it fails simply due to the audacity that the devs (and their buddies) took all the coins themselves and spread them out as they saw fit to lure in more people. With my luck it'll probably be the next bitcoin, however I hope they don't get away with such a clear pyramid scam. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't wasted my time researching it further once I found out how it works)

Anything that gives more power inherently just by holding more screams pyramid to me as well. As such, not interested here either.

TBH the entire alt-coin trade is pyramid based. There is no inherent or objectively based demand. Real catalyst are few and none.

What you do is you buy this hot potato and you hold it till it hopefully goes up, and then you sell it to another victim who has the same idea like yourself;
namely he hopes to sell it to another victim for even more BTC.

Of course someone always ends up with a black eye, either having his funds locked up in some downtrend spiraling Schmuck-coin, or bailing out with loss.
You'll notice these guys in their appropriate coin threads. They are the one constantly screaming:

EVERYONE HOLD!!!

It's a complete scam. I also hope it goes nowhere for them.

Oh and when you do have miners who hold, then you get coin that never sees the light of PUMP.
Like RonPaulCoin. Zero premine and community that doesn't dump - means no one has any incentive to pump such a coin.

I'm making less foxcoins than I am dogecoins.

I could make more mining dogecoins than I am right now mining foxcoins -_-

The answer is its going to go up and you'll be a big winner, or it goes no where or even down and you are a loser.

Risk vs reward with all the alt coins.

Truthfully I never have understood how people can mine with an intensity of 20 and get a low reject rate. Every time I have tried it my rejects always go up.

Last night I bumped the intensity down from 20 to 17 on both my 7870 machines and my 290 machine. Reject rate has went significantly down:

290x2 machine: 0.6% per card vs ~5% with an I20 value. Hash rate went from ~840kh/s per card to ~785kh/s per card.

7870x3 machine: 1.3% per card vs ~10% with an I20 value. Hash rate went from ~400kh/s per card to ~380kh/s per card.

7870x2 machine: 2.3% per card vs ~10% with an I20 value. Hash rate went from ~400kh/s per card to ~380kh/s per card.

Will let the cards run with an I17 value for another 10 or so hours then will try I18 for 24 hours to see what effect that has on reject rate.

I experimented last night with Intensity 18 to 20 on my 7950. Intensity 18 to 20 gives me a hash rate of 610Kh/s. Obviously I'm going to mine at Intensity 18 instead then...

I'm making less foxcoins than I am dogecoins.

I could make more mining dogecoins than I am right now mining foxcoins -_-
I'm mining Catcoins right now instead of Dogecoins or Foxcoins because I'm hoping CAT will make a recovery with the latest and hopefully final fork. Then I'll mine FOX.. Maybe. Ya I'm making less as you said, but no one expected DOGE to go up and sustain ~190 satoshi either.

I do not use the integrated wallet miner. I use primeminer_v08_rc1
I also do not solo mine. I use http://beeeeer.org/

If you need additional help, here is my bat file:

primeminer_x64.exe -poolip=54.200.248.75 -poolport=1337 -pooluser=YOUR WALLET CLIENT ADDRESS -poolpassword=PASSWORD -genproclimit=4 -poolfee=1
pause

The only thing you need to edit is enter the poolip which I have above, poolport is the same, and make sure you enter in your wallet address under pooluser. Pool password stays PASSWORD. Lastly, genproclimit tells it how many cores to use so for a quad core I use 4, for a quad with HT I usuaully use 7 because 8 actually gives me the same or slightly lower primes/s.

For some reason some cards just can't handle higher intensity, they either get driver crashes, become unstable, or give you HW/R. I have been running I20 on my 7950 since day one. I'll have to check on the R % once I am at the PC again, it's been running uninterrupted for a few days.
