Where are you folks finding your gpu's these days. I'd like to buy something around the area of a 7970 or r9 280x but the prices have just skyrocketed and I'm unable to find a reasonable supplier!

In the United States a lot of nope, nope, and nope. I was lucky enough to buy the majority of my GPUs in November before prices went up.

Newegg is far and away the biggest price gouger of any online retailer i've seen, but they have the most selection.

The 280x at 1080c/1500m will do 750-760kh/s and draw ~250w. At 925c/1000m it'll do 640-650kh/s and draw <200w. Will need to reduce volts to either sub 1100mv or 1000mv respectively.

The 270x at 1120m/1500m will do 460-470kh/s, not sure on watts, but I think 150-170w. Will need to reduce volts to sub 1100mv

The 270 at 975c/1200m will do 400-410kh/s and draw ~120watts. Will need to reduce volts to sub 1000mv

The 270 and/or 270x can make sense on a 4-6 GPU rig if you want to get by on sub 1kw PSU's and reign in the side of the price of a build.

I still like the 280x the most of any card because it's the easiest to configure and volt mod for use on a variety of OS's, but there are some alternatives.

Dell.com had the 290non x for $473, not sure if still alive.

Okay guys. For those who are mining Panda, I got word of some stuff.

The investors won't be able to touch their PANDA till 6 months in.

On Monday, PANDA will be introduced to 2 major exchanges (probably Cryptsy).

Current prices are low, like 70 satoshi. If you want to buy into PANDA, do it now.

Also someone is trading me their 270x for my 660ti

EDIT:

PANDA, PAND, and PND are 3 DIFFERENT types of coin.

PAND was the original coin, PANDA is the one backed by Wolong, PND is the rushed 4chan copy to mock PANDA.

That was just before they spiked, good man. I remember doing a when I checked newegg and saw 280x's going for $360 in early December I think. That is a hundred less than the curent market rate. I still think it's profitable to pay up to 500 for em if they go to dedicated miners...

Just wait till the new R7 265 comes out.

Those things will sell like hot cakes

I'm curious about the 750 Ti, apparently it is Maxwell based and has really low TDP. If Nvidia has gotten its integer GPGPU performance on par with AMD for the new architecture that would be really interesting.

Yea, the 750ti and amd's 265, if available <$150 could make for a nice sub $1k multi gpu miner.

the story is they get 50% shares now, and 50% 6 month later to avoid crashing the market.

who knows if it's true, but I'd like to believe.

Anyone? Where do you guys keep your AKC?

There's a good old regular offline wallet that always the best option. Assuming you haven't already seen it, someone linked it for me earlier, it's here, under "Wallets". Click on the "Windows" link.

Thought I'd share a pretty funny picture I saw on Facebook, of all places:

Is it possible to buy GPUs in Europe and then ship it over since there's no price gouging there?

Source? I bought as 85 satoshi and they're only at 79 right now. Sad times.

The story never changed. It was like this since day 1. The main problem would be having sevoque post in Bitcointalk and act as the charade guy instead of the developers.

I'm far more interested in the 750ti.

The R7 265 is just a slightly improved Radeon 7850, which is worse perf/watt than a R9 270.

Are you having issues with it? Any brand fan can die, I haven't heard of the MSI fan being any worse than any other brand.

So is MAX still giving the highest returns for BTC at this moment? It's gone down some but I"m still getting double what I would be getting mining for Doge.

In other news, looks like Doge just forked AGAIN! The reddit subs are full of worried people who transferred coins only to have vanished.

Doge, what an farce to the crypto community...

The problem is sevoque is involved - directly. If the story never changed, it would have been corrected maybe ONCE at best, the first time he screwed up. But nope, he just kept on going spinning and spinning - because he's part of the scam - because not even the "devs" can get their stories straight.

Oh, and for the last time: There is no Wolong.

The official AKC wallet? Local client + encrypted is always superior to online... don't forget to backup regularly.

Regularly?! I thought you only had to backup once and you're good to go

By the way, I am up to almost 500k AKC now, so it's definitely an improvement over yesterday :awe:
