On x13mod sph-miner mining my 290/290x rig is slowly losing hashing speed over a period of hours. I thought it might have been due to undervolts or clocks, but the behavior is remaining after removing any undervolts and keeping clocks below stock.

Same version of sph-miner is not showing this symptom on 280x system or 270/270x system.

Any ideas? The clocks on the 290/290x gpus are solid to where they should be, but memory is intermittently dropping to 150mhz on a continuing timeline which my other rigs are not doing.

I believe I've seen this issue show up independent of the version of sgminer i'm using and that it's followed 290/290x as well as r9 270 cards.

is x13 running as cool as the x11?

I'm loving the x11 algo... cut 20-30 degree temp in the house and using less energy... so much so, that i can bring more gpus online... i was at my power threshold for the house running scrypt.. and the dog didn't care too much for the heat, the cats didn't mind to much though, they prefer scrypt over x11

Good lord is X11 unprofitable or what? My 53Mh/s over on TradeMyBit's multipool X11 port is averaging .02 - .03 BTC/day.

Very similar. I'm finding I need more volts for a given speed to run x13 on my 290/290x, but other cards (270/270x/280x) appear unaffected by this. I'm using roughly 5-8% more watts running x13 at a given clock rate vs x11.

Temps and power draw on x13 are much better than scrypt or scrypt-n.

x-11 profitability has dropped like a rock. From .0018btc/mh a week ago to .0004-.0005 range today.

Anyone here mining x11 on a 7870? If so, what hash rate are you getting? Using PIMP distro with the "X11 (Darkcoin)/X13 (Marucoin) miner (based on sph-sgminer)" miner I am getting ~1870 Kh/s per card on a three card rig. Here's the config:

"auto-fan" : true,
"intensity" : "17",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "0",
"shaders" : "0",
"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",
"gpu-threads" : "4",
"gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
"gpu-platform" : "0",
"gpu-engine" : "0-0",
"gpu-memclock" : "0",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"gpu-vddc" : "0.00",
"gpu-fan" : "0-100",
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"temp-cutoff" : "90",
"temp-overheat" : "85",
"temp-target" : "75",
"log" : "5",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"queue" : "1",
"expiry" : "20",
"scan-time" : "60",
"shares" : "0",
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin",
"kernel" : "x11mod"

The above box is mining on Nicehash. Any comments about Nicehash?

The 24 hour payout stats for x11 on Nicehash is horrible. Around 0.00036 BTC/Mhash. Unless things pick back up going to have to go back to scrypt. Less electricity and heat is not worth 1/6th the gross earnings.

and i just spent the weekend switching over to x11.... guess i'll be switching to x13.

That is sad when it comes to an enthusiasts when our fans hit 100% (Which is about 1500 rpm for a 140mm) at 80C under water with temps never going over 68C and Hawaii doesn't throttle at 1200 x1500Mhz's under full load 1/2 fan and QUIET.

We pay approx $380 for a Miners 290X (I know you keep the Hynix's) but Elpida isn't all that bad in X-Fire idling at 1180x1500Mhz's and +0.143 mV & 35C.

I say keep up the good work ;o)

has anyone been able to get 5870/5850 to run on either x11mod or x13mod? I get nothing but HW errors, but they run fine on the regular x11 (darkcoin) kernal.

Could you still make a profit on those cards? I would think the electricity exceeds the profit.

I noticed that, on coinwarz website, if you reset their calculator and use default values, 73 of 100 listed coins are negative/losing money if you mine them.

they're part of my farm... watercooled multi gpu rigs and i don't pay elect for these particular rigs... i lose potential money if i don't run them.

and coinwarz doesn't list x13

Something is driving up the prices of X11 rentals. Nearly all of the large X11 farms on Betarigs are booked.

Seems like midweek i'm getting accustomed to large swells in price for x11 rentals. I hope something in x11 has the power of LTC for scrypt to soak up hash and provide a keel for the arena.

Darkcoin looks like the best contender.

x13 is soaking up a ton of hash now too but it looks like a who's who of ripoff trash coins that fizzled out on x11.

I still think that we should launch our own altcoin. The real money seems to be in getting in on the ground floor while mining is easy and coins are cheap, and cashing out once is gets popular.

The easiest way is to make a "scrypt"-like algorithm for x11/x13 like scrypt did for SHA-256.

And then make it Adaptive-N factor.

That way you have something useful in a unique way.

x11/x13 is totally worthless as a hashing algorithm if you care at all about centralization of hashing.

One can easily make a fpga implementation/ ASIC that does x11/x13 100-100,000x faster.
