Anyone have any details on playing Crysis 2 in 3d on a 3d tv??

Did a quick google on the topic and haven't found much other than the game is suppose to do 3d.

I'd much rather buy the PC version than the PS3 version, but I would like to see it in 3d too.

Anyone?

If you have an Nvidia video card you can play it in 3D on any monitor or TV with a cheap pair of anaglyph glasses. Otherwise the Nvidia 3D system is proprietary and requires compatible equipment including TVs and you'll have to check with them for details.

AMD video cards don't have a proprietary 3D system, but require third party drivers and, of course, are not compatible with Nvidia's proprietary equipment. For more information I recommend the MTBS3D website.

should be possible, easy and free with a 6xxx series Radeon. Works with dx9 games, and I hear it works great with games like L4D2

Asked this question in the console thread for this game. I want to get this for either the PC, Xbox360 or PS3, but not sure what is the best way to go. My pc has an i7 920 and Radeon 4890. What would give me the best overall experience?

Why would you even need to ask such a question? Unless you have lots of friends already playing MP on the consoles, there's never a reason to get the console version over the PC provided you have a strong enough rig.

i have a 3d plasma tv and the iz3d drivers with 5970 and 5870 in trifire, i'll try to get the 3d setup working tonight. I've played it with the 2d->3d conversion option on my tv and it was kinda interesting but playing with glasses for more then 30 minutes seems to bother me. I'll try it with native support and let you know what i think. This game looks alot better on my 1080 plasma then it does on my dell ips monitor for some reason, must be better colors? .02

Well, there's one feature Crysis 2 brought back from the original, rampant hacking in multiplayer. The hackers aren't as creative though, just garden variety aimbotters.

The 3D in Crysis 2 is supposed to be amazing. I haven't experienced it personally, but I've read enough about it that I don't think it's hype. James Cameron has been quoted as saying it's the best 3D tech he's ever scene, and they've already won quite a few awards for their 3D tech.

Crytek claims that they basically reversed the 3D that most people view as gimmicky. Rather than having things pop out at you from the screen (something that causes rapid eye fatigue), they designed their 3D so that everything pops into the tv. Where as traditional 3D only works between your eyes and the tv, it only has a limited space to work with to create it's effect. By reversing it, and making the TV the window 'into' the world, the 3D effect can offer as much depth as the source can render.

On my second playthrough so far, and I can say that the story really makes a lot more sense if you slow down and observe the Crynet soldiers. If you just rush through you might miss them explaining why Lockhart hates Prophet/Nanosuits in general, and that is a very important thing to miss in the story seeing as how he is one of the main villains you face.

There is also a video clip called prophet's journey that really explains quite a few things that you can unlock as well.

I bit. I was going to wait till this game was $10 or came free with a video card I want to buy, but I got it. WOW. This game is simply awesome. Runs great @ 1920x1200 on hardcore gfx on my sli'd and OC'd 460s.

I'm still trying to figure out why all the other human soldiers want me dead instead of us fighting the aliens together, but I'm sure that will be explained soon.

I think I am going to hook my PC up to my 58" 3D plasma later tonight and see how this baby looks!!

I have nvidia gfx cards, a Samsung 3d tv, and Samsung active 3d glasses. Are you saying this combo won't work and that I need other special glasses? I do not have any red/blue glasses.

You need to look up the specific model of TV and see if it is compatible with the video card.

The developers of Crysis 2 figured out how produce a 3D image with only a 2% hit on your frames per second. This is a huge advantage and could eventually become standardized, but that's precisely the problem. There are no real standards yet and the technology is just beginning to mature. Hence, the sudden interest in everything 3D by manufacturers.

I am very disapointed with crysis. It is all but unplayable with the flashing, the result of having multiple gpu's. Curious that a game, in a series known for pushing GPUs to the max, would fail at supporting multi-GPU setups.

What cards?
I have 2 768MB GTX 460s in SLI and they're working fantastic.

They went the opposite direction this time and designed it for pushing consoles to the max. From what I can tell they did a pretty damn good job of porting it to consoles, but I don't like consoles myself.

I don't think they could make this more confusing.

My receiver and tv are listed as being compatible with Nvidia 3d Play here
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-requirements.html

However, I find no reference to Nvidia 3d Play helping me play Crysis 2 in 3D on my plasma.

It looks like I need Nvidia 3D Vision, but my plasma is not compatible with that. In fact, only a few Mitsubishi DLP TVs are http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html

So... is this 3D Play thing what I need, or do I need 3D Vision?

I'm so lost and nvidia's website is useless.

I guess I could just try the 3D Play software and see what happens, but I'd rather find out before I unhook everything and move my PC into my living room.

3D Play and 3D vision are different things. 3D vision uses an IR receiver and battery powered classes to create a cleaner 3D effect, but you need a 120Hz display and either dual channel DVI or HDMI 1.4 inputs.

3D Play is a software that lets you enable passive 3D on specific displays that ARE 3D enabled, but aren't 120Hz. The supported TVs are listed on their site:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-requirements.html

If your TV isn't on the list, then it simply won't work.

So it sounds like I should be able to play Crysis 2 in 3D on my TV (PN58C7000) through my receiver (Denon AVR-3311CI) using 3D Play then. I'm not sure when I'll get around to trying it since I am getting a PS Move & Sharp Shooter attachment tomorrow to play Killzone 3.

Ahh so many games, so little time!

Played at a friends house, pretty awesome how you have this uber high tech suit. Yet you can only sprint for 3 fucking seconds before it runs out of energy.

Well after reading some reviews (didn't manage to play it) most people agree the game is ok.
I mean this isn't a new age game but things apparently are OK and it seems you will enjoy the atmosphere here.

Can be upgraded, not so much a sprint as a burst of super-human speed, etc. etc.
