The Demo is now available via an EA link:

http://static.cdn.ea.com/crytek/u/f/crysis2/Crysis_2_Multiplayer_Demo.exe

Apparently the servers are not up yet and no word on if it includes a benchmark. Edit: Does not include a benchmark, is only DX9. :/ Also includes 'aim assistance'

Below are benchmarks of the leaked build.

http://www.techspot.com/review/367-crysis2-beta-performance/

Looks like the guys at techspot actually went ahead and used the leaked Crysis 2 to run a benchmark suite ?!

That said, reminders this is the unfinished game, and I've read on some forums that multi-gpu does not properly work with SLI without renaming the executable to crysis.exe to brute force it and also shows issues in Crossfire as well. Probably the reason we see no multi-gpu tests here.

Has it been confirmed anywhere that Crysis 2 will be DX11 on the PC? This is the 'incomplete dx9' version, right?

EA might have a word with them about that. The 560 is doing poorly for the price it seems. Will have to see how it does in DX11.

So is it okay if I download the leak and claim it's for testing purposes? After all, I need to know if my rig can run the game well enough before I buy! [/sarcasm]

Nice to know TechSpot encourages piracy, though I've never heard of them before this thread.

As for the actual benchmarks, I wouldn't take any numbers seriously until we see an actual release review.

I don't get the reasoning of this article. A movie reviewer that wrote a piece on the leaked Wolverine movie was basically disgraced and fired. Seems pretty similar to review this torrent.

The GTX 560 is tanking because of the 1GB VRAM, that's my preliminary theory at least from these benchmarks. Crysis 2 is supposed to be more taxing than the original right?

I'm more interested in how it looks vs benchmarks. From videos I've seen, its no different from original crysis (actually looked worse in few videos)

I don't think there are any released pictures or footage of Crysis running in DX10 or 11. That should make a difference.

A friend of mine at Crytek has been assuring me that this game will perform on high settings on a much more user/wallet friendly range of hardware, so those benches look about right

Boo ya. Looks like it'll run fine, think we can partly thank console-gimping.

Hopefully 'will run' means just that, and that there'll still be an 'oh my god' graphics mode for people who have more than a mid range card.

It should still be able to distance itself from the 6870 at 1920 x 1080. Mem limits seem to come in at 2560.

Dx-11 should halve the fps..

Also, how come edges appears so jagged? It doesnt look like AA was enabled.

Halve is pushing it. 25% is more likely.

Still benches are benches, this is the game and while not exact, it is certainly indicative of what we will see in general on release.

Intel Core i7 920 @ stock 2.66GHz for these tests.
Software
- Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
- Nvidia Forceware 266.66
- Nvidia Forceware 266.58
- ATI Catalyst 10.12

6950 with hardcore grafics settings @ 1680x1050, is enough for 65+ fps!

*looks at benchmark for the 5870..... doesnt find it /cries*

580>6970>570>6950>>>>560>6870
so pretty much what youd expect from the GPUs.

Once real game is out, its bound to be more optimised, and drivers from nvidia/amd are bound to help abit too. Crysis 2 might actually be playable at decent fps!

from the comments of that bench:

This article has a big flaw. You guys do realize that there is only 1 set of textures and models in the leak right? All going from gamer to hardcore does is add godrays and bloom. So I hope people don't think hardcore will perform this well in the final release.

Dx-11 should halve the fps..

MLAA?... also if Dx11 has more complex models, yeah fps will probably go down 50%.

Considering HD6870 and GTX560 Ti are already scrapping in the low 42-45s FPS in DX9 @ 1920x1200 with no AA/AF, it sure looks like this game is going to bring < $250 GPU hardware to its knees!! I believe the leak can only run at medium textures (the leak apparently doesn't actually allow for hardcore visual settings despite the fact that the reviewers enabled "hardcore settings").

Once Crysis 2 is tested in DX11 (i.e., tessellation, ambient occlusion, DOF, etc.), at 4AA @ 1920x1200, I doubt a GTX580 will even break 40 fps.

I hope that the final game in DX11 brings a serious increase in visuals. As it currently stands, the graphics don't look any better to me than the original Crysis (2007 game...). Of course gameplay is what matters, but Crysis 2 doesn't appear to bring anything special to the table in terms of visuals.

good to know it'll run on my 460, probably have to turn down some eye candies. But surprised they are not using DX11 for it.

I too am underwhelmed by the screens. I am of course leaving my final judgement till the real game is released. I am worried that the game has become a basic rail shooter. What made crysis fun for me was the open ended nature.

Have to admit it does look disappointing. The graphics are good, but not as good as the original from those review shots. Also, view distance, textures and detail is definitely not at the level of the first game.

Nothing like that to see in those shots
