Sometimes I have 3-4 people in my Room and we talk all sorts of trash to each other when we play stuff like Fifa11 and SF4. Yeah and there's no point to his posts - it's random rhetoric or insults. PC gaming is for losers but he and his brother own two high end systems? He games rarely but owns a high end system and a console? PC gaming sucks per se and the graphics advantage doesn't make sense (or is irrelevant because gameplay is more important?). Eh.

I'll be happy to play Crysis 2 on PC, at 2560x1440, with smooth gameplay and great eyecandy

I hate threads like this. I came in here to see if it's as bad as I expected, and it's worse. There should be an automatic thread lock when you say "360" or "PS3" in the PC thread, and vice versa in the console thread. No good has ever come of them.

Depends. If i'm playing a shooter then obvs i'd prefer controller. But rpgs nd stuff i use keyboard nd mouse.

Aiming is easier with a mouse.

Try browsing the web and clicking buttons with a joystick instead of a mouse... it would suck.

THIS! I cant use joysticks at all, and fps games are the most fun IMO.

Your not used to joysticks obviously. If you never used a mouse, you'll feel just as awkward. I've used both since the 80's, I have no trouble with either, you just need to expand to Your skills.

I have a Ultra high end - i7 990X - My main, the thing which pisses a lot of people off.
I have a Super High End - i7 2600K - My Toy, i got most of it for free, so i built it to play with on the SATA issue.
I have a Workstation High End - i7 W3580 - My dad stole this, its still mine.. the flag on this machine.
I have a ULV SMP server - Intel Sossoman - My Primary NAS. I hate web based nav software you need to configure.
I have a High End SMP server - Intel X5570 Gainestown. - My Primary Server / DHCP / WinServer
I have a HTPC - i7 860S - My ULV HTPC which is entirely Passive.

(those are entirely mine... if we include my parents HTPC + there real computers, the list is only longer.)

And no i never married, because i hear all my friends constantly telling me, dont marry, and DONT HAVE KIDS. :biggrin:

What the hell is wrong with the PC gamer crowd this generation? After viewing the comments on just the first page I’m disgusted. What’s worse is that most of the people making these comments are at the age where they should act like adults.

I'm both a pc and a console gamer (i grew up on both) and I’m quite sure everyone here has grown up on both. Both have games that are just better for those platforms. Like it or not gaming is still only alive thanks to consoles.

Are people’s lives so pathetic that the only way for to set a level of self-worth is via their gaming preference? Sad... Some people need wives

its because people do not keep up with technology and make blanketed statements.

Once they see they lose, they try to find another medium, always the budget route, that would beat a PC.

However they always tend to place consoles with Top tier Intel Systems which yeah can cost 5-10x more. In my system's case, id say it probably cost 15x time then a typical console, if you include all the accessories i have for my PC.

How about we rank them with an AMD PH2 system and good class GPU's. The console only has the edge in the selection of games which the PC does not offer.

Problem is consoles can not display past 30fps.
90% or the worlds population can pick up frame rates up to 60fps.

So when you play the game on PC and get 60fps or close to 60, the difference in the game really stands out vs 30fps.

Also most games are scaled at 720p. This isnt so with PC's.
You have the definition of going as high as a 30inch monitor, or even multipul monitors like EyeFiniti, and Stereoscopic 3d, which changes the way games are played.

Dont believe me? Try gaming on a well setup tri monitor display.
You wont be able to go back to single monitors for FPS.
Having side monitors makes the game a new experience... Especially a FPS or a First Person Simulation

If people really wanted to start throwing their self-proclaimed superiority around because they are a pc gamer. Then i could equally do so calling said PC gamer a 'PoorF*g' for not having top of the line equipment/systems that cost over $10k, not making six figures a year, and if they as sooo superior why are they still alone and I’m happily engaged etc etc etc...Not that i think this way... My argument wasn't about stats or 'this' looks/runs better on ‘this'. It's about maturity.

I read an article a few months back titled 'Why it's still not "Cool" to call yourself a gamer'.. want to take a guess as to one of the reasons why?

There is nothing wrong with having a preferred gaming platform. There is something wrong with stating that one is superior than the other and that console gamers (the gamer itself) is inferior simply because they don't game on computers.

I will say this - hooking my pc up to the TV in my living room and therefore getting it out of my bedroom was the best thing I've done in awhile as far as gaming goes. I game less but enjoy the time I spend gaming more.

The only problem is games that don't use a 360 controller... and there are plenty of those. I do miss the k/b + mouse only games - finding a 360 .ini file for Mass Effect 2 was a Godsend!

Console gamers are just as bad mate. In any case. I don't agree with the whole some games are better on certain platforms (except the wii, but we won't get into that)

Almost every game can be played on any system. be it racing games, RPGs, Beat em ups, FPS.

The only reason really for owning all the platforms is probably exclusives. I might get a 360 just for Final Fantasy versus 13 and Forza 4.

Because when you game on a PC your usually a loner, therefore neglecting your kids, partner, all round life, it's shit at times, i sometimes game for 1 hour on say bad company 2 and think wtf am i ding sitting here like this? instead of being able to sit, relax, talk to who ever nicely in the living room, etc....

they make mouse and kb adapters for consoles, even weird hybrids of pad and m/kb.
The only thing i hate about PC gaming besides hardware cost, driver updates, DRM..etc is Windows which for me seems more prone to reinstalls which means reinstalling games, fixes, tweaks..etc. I'd rather have Linux as the main platform

I reckon PC gaming is full of scam artist like NVIDIA and ATi who continue to sell their stupid graphics cards at ridiculously high prices. They market it as the latest direct x11 version but, you hardly see any developer giving a crap about it.

I think economy of scale should have brought down prices for each new generation of cards but...nah these two stupid organisation keep selling their cards at ridiculously high prices(at the time of launch). Not to mention, most PC games don't even look that better then console games(just have some AA and a higher resolution). Prettty pathetic if you ask me that after spending 500+ dollars after a stupid GPU it looks only 10% better than a machine which can be purchased for under 200 dollars nowadays. Please don't tell me about R&D...consoles probably cost more to produce than graphics cards themsleves, yet, they've started turning a profit. Kinda funny actually, that nvidia makes billions of dollars and a razor thin profit, either someone is making their financial statements up or they have some really overpaid employees lol.

Here is a pro tip...if you want to increase your marketshare stop selling it at 500 dollars+ You want to know why PC gaming is struggling the issues mentioned above are the reasons.And one other thing...stop marketing direct x11 like it's the next best thing....it's not...another marketing scam by microsoft and the two graphics card development companies.

I'll be getting this on consoles tyvm...no concerns of stupid driver issues,or having enough ram, it will simply plug and play....can't wait for MP.

im not a great shot IRL, but i can assure u it wouldnt take me 40 seconds and 60 bullets irl to shoot a coyote 10 feet from me
but it does on console in red dead redemption..and thats a shame..bc i like everything about red dead, except the horrid controls..knowing full well, how much better it would be with a kbm.

I hit better IRL than in FPS game (even under fire), so I take objection to that claim.
