visually it's pretty impressive,:awe:

on very high maxed out with fxaa or x4 msaa the game is smooth one moment and unplayable the next,:twisted:

we are talking i think i saw prolly 10fps every couple seconds...
what will it take to lock this on 60 with maxxed visuals? including AA...

Graphics are good, MP has neutered visuals for performance, no tessellation, etc. So the single player will be superior, but the MP still looks nice. I'm running everything on high with 2x SMAA, 1680x1050, stays above 30 FPS with my 560 Ti, probably averages low 40's.

Gameplay is great, the weapons feel good, and the suit modes seem balanced. You incur a speed penalty when in stealth and armor, which I like, prevents abuse in them. It's fast paced on the Crash Site mode, but there aren't people spawning behind you and killing you. I really enjoy Hunter mode, it gets pretty intense when you're the last CELL standing.

Just played up to level 5 in MP. It is OK. I like single player Crysis better than multiplayer Crysis, though.

I didn't put too much experimentation into the AA modes but I thought it looked great with AA turned off. 4x MSAA looked like a blurry mess.

And especially considering this IS a beta, and like people have said that the visuals are neutered in multiplayer mode.

So I want to just kick this around, WHAT will it take to lock this on x4 msaa @ 60fps?

and to the last poster, yeah it did look pretty good even with no AA, although there were some jaggies.

I am Running 13.1 catalyst too.

Personally I like the game a lot.. and somehow I am ranked #4 in accuracy at 91%.. not sure if thats a bug though and everyone sees themselves ranked really high? Havent played a FPS game in a couple years.

Im enjoying it though, thankfully they have dedicated servers. I am wondering how modable the game will be to change game settings. If the game doesnt have somewhat of a competitive scene then it wont appeal to me for too long

crossfire is broken. new 13.2 beta 3 drivers did nothing to fix it. amd posted in their notes that more performance updates will be made available for crysis 3.

Can someone confirm if they see me in #4 for accuracy? My origin name is DemiGR. I see the top 2 are bugged so thats why I think its not accurate. I cant take a SS for some reason when I paste everything is black

edit: NM got it to work with fraps. It must be bugged because the people under me hardly even have any shots fired. Not to mention I think im a slightly above average player, but not that good

Yeah, there's no way you could have fired that many shots already, probably bugged. Of course, I have to say that since you beat me.

I'm certain that if I tried, or used a sniper, I get get 50%. Right now I just go full auto, but with tap firing I think I could bring my accuracy up a lot. There's a bunch of people complaining that recoil is too high, but I think it's fine.

I've been loving it. it looks great and plays pretty well too. I have a 3570k at 4.2 with crossfire 6850's and its playing at around anywhere between 45-70 fps on the 2 maps that are in the beta with settings on "high" I would go very high but I'm not sure if my 1gb cards would do the job. I definitely need an upgrade to like a 7950 or something since vram is pretty important now days but it seems to be more than enough at the moment.

Not playing smooth at all. The alpha played better than this. Unless it's just all server lag (my ping was pretty good regardless) something seems to be wrong here.

Probably two next gen cards from what i've been hearing. It will improve a little at least from new drivers though.

I gave it a try, played about two hours. It's... alright, I guess. I wonder though if people still play Crysis Wars by now. I own it but it's not installed and haven't touched it in months, but back then it was made specifically to give a dedicated multi-player aspect to the Crysis franchise. If I recall correctly (or I'm mixing that up with another game, it's been a while so correct me if I'm wrong) wasn't Crysis Wars supposed to be updated post Crysis Warhead? I mean, with new maps, new weapons (for free that is) over time, etc. I swear the devs at the time mentioned something along the lines of having a very long-term "plan" of sorts for Crysis Wars and they hoped they could keep it breathing new features for years to come.

Anyway, obviously, it didn't work I guess. It was rather fun though, didn't played Crysis Wars for long, maybe for a month or so but I did have fun with it. Anyway so yeah Crysis 3 MP Beta is decent, seems to be built to make infantry-based combat more prevalent than with vehicular combat thrown in. In fact it reminds me a bit of the more enclosed maps and infantry-focused play style of Bad Company 2, on steroids (graphically that is).

I wonder though if people still play Crysis Wars by now.

There's still a small group of people that play Crysis Wars, and a few servers that always have enough people for a game.

I personally like Crysis Wars better than any of the new Crysis MP stuff. The scope is so much bigger (and it requires a good bit more skill).

I don't think it was really ever successful enough for them to put more resources into. They probably thought they would be better off reinventing their MP.

Yeah, same for me even after I updated to the beta drivers that were made to help Crysis 3 performance. Makes me think it's more a server issue than game issue, especially since it didn't really improve with graphics settings. I don't remember it being this bad in the alpha, so it might be related to how many people are getting on it while it's an open beta.

Odd, I had the opposite feeling with this Open Beta than the previous closed sessions and Crysis 2. I could not get into Crysis 2 at all. With Crysis 3, it is nice that armour and energy is separate bars, so you can armour up while energy is regenerating. Fall damage takes both away and the ledge grabs are not as flakey.

The sluggishness may be from the server and client not reporting the correct pings as I have gone into a server that reported a 75 ping on the server browser, however in game it was 200+.

Overall, I'm really looking into playing MP off the bat. Also, if you are maxed at 10, make sure to reboot the suit to unlock one of the other 3 weapons. Your stats will reset but you will get the bow unlocked. You need to do it again for the M60 and again for the Typhoon.

no lag issues and the matches I played last night were fun and competitive.

The hunter game mode is pretty nuts. You do get paranoid as you survive longer and you know more and more hunters are coming after you.

I hate that sound of the motion tracker now..... it haunts me.

But being a hunter is awesome, just run and gun with the bow.
