True DX10 is looking good.

I wonder what GPU they were using to make it run silky smooth like that?

HD2900XT Crossfire or 8800GTX SLi?

Wow they have a release date!! 9/4/07. Wish it were sooner but a definite date is good...

Edit- Erm...nevermind. I think that was the release date of the vid of April 9th.... Very late here and up too long...

I remember reading awhile ago a comment from the developers of Crysis how smoothly the 8800 ran the game at DX10.

Yeah, unless they know something about DX10 that other developers don't they must be running on a HD2900XT Crossfire or 8800GTX SLi rig.

I should confess once again that I'm never going to be an IQ expert. I do see some differences between DX9 and DX10 but they look merely the different objects and sceneries. If anything the DX9 looks just as good as DX10..

The jungle is a lot more dense in the DX10 version, and the flames and smoke do look better in DX10 too, but apart from that my eyes are not good enough to notice any diff in texture quality.

Just ordered Vista Business, so am now ready for DX 10 - when something using it arrives (apart from Lost Planet demo)

I get the impression the only reason this was delayed was to get add the DX10 implementation. Pity it's still such a wait as theres so little new stuff in the way of games at the moment.

Don't like Stalker, and am not impressed with the porting job they did with R6:Vegas.

Anyone else notice jungle Dx10 slowdown compared to smooth Dx9 jungle?

Sure Dx10 looks good, but Dx9 looks almost as good and seems to run much better.

The DX10 does look better. But not by a large amount from what I can tell. But being DX10 is soo early on, i can imagine what it is capable of.

DX10 just has more things laying on the ground(ground textures are better to),able to see the rain, better smoke, ect. IDK why DX9 couldn't do most of this? Its like they just left out some stuff on DX9 mode then added it and said it was DX10 mode. Just my opinion though.

I know DX9 can do the rain at least.

The environmental effects were awesome in the DX10 version. Completely blows away the DX9 video. The hunter itself did not look any different, but the smoke, weather, etc., looked head and shoulders above the DX9 stuff IMHO.

Can hardly wait to play this (wait, how many times have I said that in the past year? 20, 30?).

The more footage of this game I see, the more I wonder whether my shiny new 8800GTS (which I haven't even recieved yet) will be able to run this game decently at 1680x1050. It just looks too good to be true.

Ditto for Alan Wake.

DX10 doesn't look better, so much as more realistic than dx9. Both games do have great graphics though, in both dx9 and dx10...everyone should be satisfied.

if you read up on what DX10 allows it breaks down the object bottleneck currently limiting DX9. Thus, devs can put a lot more things (objects) in DX10 games than they could ever have hoped to put in a DX9 game becuase the dx10 is able to process them a lot better.

anyone notice in the dx10 hunter video that when the hunter did its yell thing that the fire was affected by it? It is def what i found most impressive, the dx9 fire was static but the dx10 fire seems to dynamically change depending on the objects around it.

Ill use whatever has the highest FPS. Maybe they have dx8 or dx7 support also. That would be nice.

After viewing the videos i have to say don't count on dx9 being so bas as this videos. I bet there is some money exchanging here. They should either explain them selves about why they have the setting for each version different or let them be the same and see if there is really a difference between the two. The video show dx9 has less effects ON, less Physics ON and Less Lighting ON. Seems to easy for this to be a trick for people to buy a new video card. I'll wait for the release and see if such dx9 path is so limited.

Some of that might be due to greater flexibility in the Dx10 shaders. The jungle vid also had what appeared to be destructible trees and foliage, where it did not seem to be so in the Dx9 vid.

The DX10 video looks blurred to me. DX9 is more sharper. IMHO DX10 is evolutionary not revolutionary.
