I wonder how much Fileplanet pays these developers to get the exclusive rights to these betas and demos.

Sounds a little too optimistic to me, most of the DX10 paths thus far have resulted in worse performance.

Kind of bummed that a Q6600 and GTX can't handle the truth, this doesn't bode well for the "regular joe's" among us and further stresses that whether G92 is a high end refresh or not, NVIDIA better have something in the pipe before Christmas to get acceptable performance.

Because ALL of the DX10 paths are just paths, Crysis is fukll DX10 code inside and out. That = better performance.

The low performance in this game's beta can be related to drivers too.

Note: nobody has an HD2900Xt and has tested this game's performance on that platform.

You're saying a game that took 4 years to develop is written in dx10 from the ground up?

It is, ask the devs or just search the net for one of the many interviews they give. They say they are taking full advantage of DX10 and have written the game with DX10 in mind. What does that say to you?

random note: I think I lost 100IQ points reading through some of the retarded posts on gamefaqs.com. People running 3Ghz P4 systems with 7600GT or slower video cards and 1GB of memory are complaining of how the game looks bad and runs bad...um DUH! Oh and apparently nobody understands how to create a profile to save the graphics settings.

Yeah...and your name has been reported as offensive.

Point? I have none and neither do you.

Maybe you're one of the people over at gamefaqs trying to look cool to a bunch of 13 year olds?

Yeah. We all need to remember that when Far Cry was released, no one could play the game with max settings at 16x12 with full AA/AF. Later, newer cards came out that allowed the game to be played as it was meant to be. And here we are in Sept 2007, and Far Cry still looks fantastic.

Same will be for Crysis, and they have stated this, many times. It is going to be a very demanding game, built for cards coming out within the next 12-18 months.

We aught to consider ourselves lucky at least with the cpu prices. A Q6600 is going to be plenty of cpu power for this game, and its coming in at ~280 right now.

I applaud them for this. Yes, please, push the hardware makers. But more importantly, it is not due to shoddy programming, but actually good graphics and physics.

I think after MS releases an update for DX10, newer revisions of DX10 cards are released, and we have more mature drivers, we're going to be good to go with Crysis, and other well-coded DX10 games as well.

I've only seen reports of 8800 owners complaining that the game performs poorly. It is beta after all. I want to see some people with the HD2900xt chime in on how it performs. Is it the same as the 8800? worse? a little better? I'm curious...

I like it a lot. It's like BF2 mixed with Far Cry. I don't think I'm supposed to talk too much about it, but lets just say it is really, really, nice.

I'm pretty sure that's not covered by the NDA, and I posted a topic about it in the beta forums, since I really have no clue and couldn't find a system requirements page.

On behalf of Crytek and EA we ask you to not post any content if you signed up for the Beta. It is a closed event and is covered by a NDA you have accepted during the sign-up process. Posting screenshots, videos or other internal information from the Beta is a violation of the NDA and will cause in an immediate and permanent ban from the Beta program.

As a Fan & Community Site we ask you to monitor your forums and chime in when necessary. Also please do not post any news on your site that includes internal information from the Beta. Even though the interest from the public audience in such an event is greater than expected, we still do not want to see internal information on a public forum or web site.

Sorry, no can do.

Yeah from the looks of it they are taking their NDA pretty seriously. They made some strongly worded posts in the beta forums about it, so strongly worded I won't even say what they said

And I think what Ackmed is trying to say is that it's awesome, so awesome he can't talk about it.

edit: and from that site

Quite a few of you wonder why you haven?t had any chance to sign-up for the first batch of the Beta. This was due to this first batch being available for a pre-selected group only. The members of this group are people who have been invited by EA and/or Crytek to join the Beta program of Crysis. There has been a very limited number of available keys for them. Additionally Fileplanet gave a few of their Founder?s Club Members the chance to sign-up for this event as well.

This is our final test to verify the stability before the initial Beta begins. It is an important test for EA and Crytek since we can see how everything works under real life conditions. This internal test is not directly related to the rest of the Beta. Therefore we did not plan to official announce it.

So it's not even the actual beta yet.

I'm sure a lot of people would, until Crytek gets wind of it and disables those keys.
