CS:S Zombie Mods

After trying the zombie mod on COD4 I felt the urge to play one of the zombie mods on CS:S, but they all suck compared to one that i used to play a year or 2 ago.

The mod i speak of has about 5 different skins for the zombies, when you get knifed you turn into a zombie on the spot (seems to be the case for all CS:S zom mods, though not on COD4), you can pick any gun in the game and had really detailed and large maps that had multi floor buildings with furniture which you could push/shoot to from a barricade. Also had this one map that had a pillar that was about 30/40 stories high, took a while to fall to your death.

I have tried looking though the server lists, i recalled that it's name began with A but it's no longer there, and it's not under Z. I would look through all 4000+ servers but i'd go blind and probably skim right past it.

So anyone know if this mod is still on the go, or if there is one that is as good? All the ones i find are crap.

Yeah, the mod still exists. They added a bunch of new skins and crap. I don't play anymore because most servers have unlimited ammo on, which is just lame.

lol i remember the good ole' zombie mod. Was awesome. That sux they changed crap around though... Although i did a lot of surfing back in my day.

The best zombie mod I played for CS:S was called "Rabbit's Style" or some such.

No players ever had to be a zombie (which is not fun for me anyway). You start the round on level 1 in which 80 or so zombies come after you. They all have 200 health so you can take them down with an AWP head shot or a shot gun headshot. Other weapons were maybe 1 head shot or two, or an entire mag to the body mass.

Each time you killed all the zombies the level increaded adding 25 zombies for each level. Once you beat level 8 there were then 400 zombies plus the boss, who was virtually indestructable (he has over 1 million hit points). I can remember I did 250,000 damage to the boss once while playing with 5 or 6 other people, we finally killed him but that was the only time I have done it.

That zombie mod rocked, it had all new models and skins for the zombies, not HL reuses. I wish I could find that server again. It had a ton of really well done custom maps also.

We still play the classic style you're looking for. The Escape servers are more popular nowadays, but Napalm is the classic barricade or camp server. Granted the different zombies have different abilities vs. before where they where all just the same.

Turn off your filters? It could be located too far away and is too high of a ping to show up? (if you have the filters set, of course)
I loved Zombie servers back when I was devoted to CS:S. Good stuff!

not the same, but have you tried the zombie panic mod?
different from the cs:s zombie mods, but you certainly don't have to worry about unlimited ammo!
earlier versions were hella buggy, but the latest 1.21b is pretty solid.

when ZM server at u of akron crashed hard and didn't come back for months. that lost players' interest.

u of akron now runs only surf servers on both CS:S and TF2.

The maps start with zm_*map name* Just look for servers using the maps.

Its not a standalone mod just special maps/servers.

It rotates a bunch of different maps, each of which has its own different type of mod (some of them modeled after movies, like cs_jungle and a mod modeled after predators). It's refreshing to play every once in a while. When you die, though, you have to wait for all the other players to die
