its not a conundrum at all. children do not choose to engage in these photo sessions. THey are forced to. It is criminal behavior up there next to rape. homesexuality between consenting adults is obviously not the same category as exploiting children for satisfying the pervursions of an adult.

I think you missed ronstang's point. Obviously they are different in terms of legality and societal acceptance, but what he's getting at is how can we hope to change a person's sexual proclivities when we've accepted that homosexuality is something that cannot be changed?

The difference of course is that we believe homosexuality to be a genetic trait, something you're born with. Pedophilia more often occurs in individuals who have been sexually abused themselves, indicating that it is not an inherited trait and it could possibly be reversed. I don't know that it can be reversed, we haven't found a way to reverse it yet, but I don't think the comparison to homosexuality is valid.

Wow you are completely off the mark. Genetics has nothing to do with it, it's the consequences of the choices that make all the difference. The consequences of a gay lifestyle do not cause any harm to any innocents. Being a pedophile has serious consequences to innocents. It will never be accepted in society no matter the amount of proof that its genetic or whatever other bs people want to come up with, and it never should be.

Amen. Everytime I say something like that on here I get flamed, a lot. People cannot remove their emotions from the topic of pedophilia and discuss it intelligently. When pedophilia is mentioned the response is always "beat them, burn them, kill them!!!". If you suggest there is a topic to be discussed, you are thrown into the fire as well.

That's a tough call for the newspaper. On one hand, the guy has not been convicted of a crime and deserves to be free from harrassment. On the other hand, does the public deserve to know if a person who is suspected of crime involving the sexual exploitation of children is living nearby? It's not like they're revealing secret information - if it's in court documents, is it not public information anyway? What if there is another guy from the same area who is about the same age with the same name? Imagine being that guy if the address was not indicated in the article.

Generally they just list the street or block, not the full address in news stories. That is kind of odd.
