Read through this first before trying this.
Buddy of mine just told me about this:
1) Open up a command windows (run --> "cmd") and type this in:
"Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1"
2) Run> "Devmgmt.msc" (Device Manager)
3) Go to "view> show hidden Devices". Then look through and find all the greyed out devices.
I beleive these are leftover drives and what not that windows is loading up each time you boot. So, right click and uninstall should get rid of the junk.
Anyone else tried this before? Worked for me on this sytem.
