I'm in the process of building a new box, running Vista 64.

Trouble is that I was planning on utilizing my current wireless card and router, but D-Link does not provide any updated drivers / firmware / information for the products in relation to Vista 64.

So, with that said, I'm not shopping for a new router and wireless card that is "Vista 64 Approved" so to speak.

Any help is much appreciated.

(Just for kicks, current router is a DI-524, and NIC is a DWL-G510.)

Thanks, much appreciated. Now it's just a matter of finding the devices locally, lol

If only I had the foresight to check compatibility of the one other device I planned on keeping I would have ordered it last night when I made my build order.

Silly me.

Routers are OS independent. Don't buy a new one unless this one no longer does what you need it to.

Which revision is the wireless card? Revision C has x64 drivers available for both XP and Vista.

Sort of true. Vista did highlight an issue with many consumer grade boxes which didn't fully support the TCP spec. So in that regard it highlighted a common bug, but some vendors didnt update device that were too old.

D-Link's website doesn't list a C revision of the DWL-510 card. Nevertheless, the NIC is revision B.

Now, as far as the router, it is indeed the C revision, but D-Link's own support site doesn't list any drivers/documentation verifying it's use with Vista.

You can do it in two steps.

Step 1. Get the Edimax card, not only that it has drivers for x64 it is really a much better card.

As for the Router, it is an Old bellow mediocre Wireless hoever depnding on how you are using it it might work well with a new card.

As for Vista compatibility maybe this can help, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233

Step 2. Does not work, you do not like it, order a new Router

What the other poster said about the router is true. A router has zero to do with your operating system. There is no "Vista compatible" or not vista compatible router out there. It relies on standard internet protocols to communicate that are totally separate from the OS. Also, a router doesn't use drivers. All you need is a new wireless card that is Vista 64 compatible. Keep your existing router if it's working ok for you.
