Y'know, I looked around and around to see who tipped off the website error. I should have known it would have been here!

We do appreciate the kind words said about us in what could have been a very hairy situation. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on here or my personal email.

Joe,
Though I posted it here, I found it via pricewatch.

I bet a certain number of orders were from Pricewatch.
I also saw it on firingsquad.com's Deals page, but I saw it on Pricewatch and posted here before it showed up at Firing Squad.

Thats where I found it, then later I saw the post here. I was really looking for a 6600 gt and it all worked out, thanks Joe!

Just wonderng if anyone knows what exactly is this "Molex to PCI-E Power Connector" for $7.95 is. I notice in www.gameve.com and other sites do not mention any need for this Molex to PCI-E Power Connector. I thought the 6600GT card draws all its power from the PCI-E slot itself? I'm a bit confused here and I just recently got a Dell 8400 and would like to get a 6600GT nice and quick.

One last question, does it matter much if I get an XFX 6600GT card as opposed to a more expensive Chaintech 6600GT card?

Thanks...

Mine shipped yesterday. I got the email an hour after my last post. I should get it Thursday.

I don't know why people didn't think this XFX for $179 shipped after $10 discount wasn't a pretty good deal. It is.

trickz:
The XFX card doesn't seem to use the 6 pin 12v power connector so the "required" part is probably a mistake. Both the Chaintech and XFX cards are reference designs and neither company manufacturers the cards themselves IIRC. So no, it shouldn't matter.

The XFX comes with dual DVI and dual DVI-VGA adapters, which is nice. The XFX also comes with a game bundle (Nascar Thunder 2004, Commandos 3, X2 The Threat). The Chaintech card also looks fine, but it's priced a little over MSRP possibly due to the strange WinDVD software bundle.

So the molex connector is not required? BAH! I was not sure so I went ahead and bought it. It was only $5 not $8. They said the $10 credit would show up as a refund on my credit card, it has not posted yet .

It was a good deal, but Anand's SLI article changed my mind, so I ended up canceling my order.

pxc, when you get your order, can you confirm we don't need the molex connector? Thanks a lot.

Card arrived today. There is no connection for the molex connector on the card Which sucks because I wasted $5. I am still waiting for the $10 credit to show up on my credit card as well. I'll keep everyone posted.

I got the $10 credit already. In fact, the credit posted before the charge.

Still not getting my card until tomorrow...
