Customer service beyond belief

Today my wife was at Lowe's picking up some materials. While the cashier was ringing her up my wife realized she didn't have any money with her. The cashier said no worries, she would hold the stuff at the register so when she comes back she can come right back to the checkout line.

Then she says to my wife, "Wait a minute. I see you here all the time and you are always nice to everyone. I'll charge this on my personal credit card so you don't have to come right back, and the next time you're in just pay me back."

I don't even think I can tell the manager how cool it was that she saved my wife another hour round-trip because she'd probably get fired for what she did.

In addition to sharing your wife's experience with the local site manager, I would also suggest notifying their corporate HQ as well.

I hope you or your wife take the time to share your experience, that employee definitely deserves the recognition and praise.

Be careful, that would have definitely gotten me fired when I worked retail. Honestly, it probably will get her fired anyways because we tracked credit card data against the associates id so if they matched it looked like your rang up your own transaction.

The best customer service I've ever had was in Salt Lake City at the hands of the mormons, nicest people in the world.

My friend left his bag on a train, in said bag was his passport, plane tickets, iPod, money, camera etc.

We rang the customer service number on the side of the train station and got through to someone.

I said "Hi, my friend has left his bag with [Insert things] on a train leaving station x about five minutes ago"

he said "Oh my, OK no problem I'll call you back on this number in a second"

---Disconnect---

About 60 seconds later I got a call back

"Hi there, it's [insert name] from the train company, I've stopped the train at the next station for you and the conductor is searching it now, I'll call you back in a moment to let you know if we found it"

"Wow OK, thank you"

---Disconnect---

Another call:

"Hi, we found your bag, and someone is driving to the station you are at now with it, they should be there in a couple of minutes, just wait by the entrance. Have a nice day"

Amazing.

I went to Academy Sports a few years ago and ended up getting no help and severe attitude from this old guy behind the gun counter. I'd never dealt with him before that, but I'd seen him act like he didn't want to be there towards others, and this guy was supposed to one of their more senior/expert employees in the gun/ammo section.

I never complained to a manager about him though, and that never sat well with me, but I let it go.

A few months later I was looking for something sort of hard to find and ended up in that same section. This time another guy helped me and he bent over backwards to help me find it. When he couldn't find it he then went out of his way and called other competitors stores looking for the item, despite me saying, "You don't have to waste your time doing that.". He insisted, and found what I was looking for at a local shop.

On my way out I stopped and asked for a manger. the manager had that, "Uh oh, here we go." look when I said, "I need to talk to you about an employee".

After telling him my story, he said, "Wow, thanks. Ya know, no one ever stops me to give us compliments.".

I know how bad retail can suck. So when someone does a good or great job, tell their manager or corporate if you can.
