Bill O'Reilly suggested that the United States "hand over everything to the Iraqis as fast as humanly possible" because "there are so many nuts in the country -- so many crazies -- that we can't control them."

O'Reilly has previously called those advocating immediate withdrawal from Iraq "pinheads" and compared them to Hitler appeasers.

I think I am gonna head over to the dollar store and buy a pair of flip flops to send O RLY there.

Someof the talking heads such as Hannity and O' Reilly are actually starting to worry about their future income.

I'm so shocked the two biggest liberals on these forums would respond in such a way to this suggestion.

It's like peering cautiously off a balcony at a nuremburg rally hoping it will pass soon wondering how things got this bad.

I just wonder how long it will take the poison these people fed into americans hearts to dissipate now that they have used up their spotlight. (I hope)

Corbett: Go play your nintendo and buzz off, please, you and o reilly are free to jump into a long deep pipe searching for turtles for as long as you would like, excused.

You should be blasting O RLY for not "staying the course" in Iraq.

It's just the new Conservative pre-election cop-out. Vote for our guys, we want out too.

I think he may be aiding the enemy with words like that. You just can't say stuff like that in times of war. It may not be illegal, but it's certainly irresponsible.

It's interesting... Someone from "the other side" changes his position and rather than receive congratulations from the left he's bashed for it. I would think you guys would be cheering him on for "seeing the light".

And people wonder why I think that lefties are never happy... no matter what.

Personally I think his comments were a bit early. It's a rough situation there but over the last 24 hours things have been fairly well quelled. Maintaining that will be a huge (some say impossible) chore... But it can be done.

Yeah because only the left is guilty of that.

Yeah because one the left is guilty of that.

OK... I've read that six times now. It still makes no sense. Edit?

Is sarcasm and irony lost on you often?

First, Is that the best you can do when your potatohead hero steps on his own schlong with his hypocrisy? O'Reilly's a moron. What does that say about anyone who actually falls for his crap?

Second, I'm so shocked (and disappointed) that you left me off of your list of liberals. Your dickwad president and his entire administration are good examples of why I am, and I'm proud of it.

If only that were the whole story. There's this small matter of the vehemence and vituperation O'Reilly uses in his commentary. To quote Keith Olbermann from his Countdown, Wednesday:
But, tonight's winner, oh he is back! Ted Baxter has called for the firing of one his own network's commentators. The eminent author and journalist, Neal Gabler appears on "FOX News Watch" the only show on that network that actually tries to live up to the catchphrase ?fair and balanced,? but O'Reilly on the same network called Gabeler a ?rabid dog who traffics impersonal attacks.? Can we just drop the whining about personal attacks, Billy? I mean, without personal attacks, you would be a mime. Bill O'Reilly, today's "Worst Person in the World!"

I think you're missing the irony here. Nobody on the left is upset that O'Reilly changed his mind, the point is that people like O'Reilly (and O'Reilly himself in fact) make a BIG deal out of anyone on the left changing their mind. That is certainly not allowed in their universe, what you and I (well, maybe not you) might call reasonsing, O'Reilly and friends refer to as "flip-flopping". Thus, it is quite ironic when O'Reilly himself flip flops. In my opinion, he's doing what more people need to do, applying facts and logic to come up with reasonable opinions about situations. If he was someone else, I'd be happy he's thinking for himself. But since O'Reilly seems to have such distaste for that kind of thinking, this situation is just exploding with irony.

But you know, irony is a lot like humor. If you have to explain it, it just loses something.

if you listen to the audio, you'll discover that he qualified the remark by stating that we should "hand everything over to the Iraqis as quickly as possible..." and then get out . That isnt so much of a flipflop, but rather an emphasis on speeding up the process that we are already moving ahead with. I also believe his main point was his realistic observation that Iraq is full of nuts and crazies... So, if anything, he's not flipflopping, he's just growing more pessimistic.

will the left EVER be happy? the answer is an emphatic NO! They are party of whiners and complainers. period. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's not the left's agenda that is entirely broken, it's their attitude and delivery of said agenda.

After the failure to find the infamous WMD's in Iraq, hasn't getting a Democracy in place in Iraq and getting out ASAP been the primary motivavting goal?

Now it seems that "ASAP" isn't fast enough anymore? Something changed, and I say O'R is a flip-flopper.

ASAP means exactly what it has always meant. The plan has not changed, and neither has OR's belief in that plan. like I said, OR isnt "flipflopping," he's just rightfully growing more pessimistic as more and more of the people in the greater ME demonstrate a total lack of sanity and common sense. He just wants the process sped up.

So does this mean that he's getting closer to the left in this belief? yes. but it's certainly a long way from the "pull out yesterday" mentality most of you have.

The total lack of sanity and common sense sounds more like idiots like oreilly who would not listen to sanity in the first place when people saw this happening BEFORE the war even started.

Lack of sanity is thinking you can occupy someones country that you have been bombing for years and get flowers thrown upon them.

Lack of sanity is being a shill for a lying administration. Par for the course for o'lielly.

for the record, MOST of the people in Iraq DID welcome our assistance and presence. It's the fanatics amongst them who have screwed up the entire mess. NOT us, and NOT the majority of the people there.

It only takes a few bad apples to screw up the cider completely, and that is what has happened in Iraq.

And dont even try to argue with me on that. I've been there. you'll never learn from the news or NY Times what you would learn in person up to your neck in the sh*t.

Those "bad apples" have basically sh*t in the cider, which is where we're at now: In a cup of ******-flavored cider. lol...

YOU'RE LYING.

He said "We should hand over the country to the Iraqis as fast as humanly possible."

Not "We should leave now, cut and run and leave the country as it exists today."

There IS a difference. Handing stuff over to Iraqis as fast as humanly possible means doing what we have been trying to do buy building a government and military and HANDING OVER responsibility to them as they become capable of handling it.

What a .******. liar you are steeple. You tell us something that isn't true even though the actual quote which you lied about is right in front of us as though we are too fukking stupid to figure it out.
