night crew? I think this is a great little social experiment.

why:
to see the interaction between an inanimate object with a goal and humans, to see how humans interact on a social level with the little robots.

I would have either kicked it or stolen it.

A lot of people would have done that, except for fear that *someone* is watching.
I think it's a cute project, and wouldn't have stolen it.

Again, why?
While I agree that it's interesting and smile-inducing, you really haven't given an answer to why it's a great social experiment. You don't explain why it's good to see how humans interact with these little robots or what practical applications (either to psychology or robotics) it might have.
I don't necessarily disagree with you here, I just wanted to point out that your answer is incomplete at best.
And, just so I don't come off as a complete curmudgeon, I'll admit that if I came across one of these little guys, I'm sure I'd end up talking to it just like the person mentioned on the website. Meeting one of those little robots would certainly be a bright spot in my day.

Very cool idea. I'm amazed it hasn't been stomped yet.

I don't think I could stand watching that robot bumble along. I'd have to pick it up and carry it to it's destination :^D
