To be honest I'm quite sad at the poor launch. The developers have put a lot of effort into the game but it seems like they bit a off a more than they could chew.

Rockstar must be sleeping well at night. Shows you how incredibly difficult it is to develop massive open world games without decades of experience.

While I am enjoying the game I also feel like they tried to incorporate too much all at once. Doesn't seem like they had any good project management to clearly define the scope for the game, etc.

The city and environment is great to look at but it seems like everything else is just "there".

People like to compare red dead 2 world to this one, with the AI, random events, etc. I found a thread on reddit with a giant list of things that were promised back from 2018-2019.

Like how it talked about corrupt cops AI and how your choices and dialogues could affect the side missions you get. Bunch of other content that was promised but never made it in. All makes me go what happened in all that time. At least I am enjoying it nonetheless.

I read today on cdprojectred.com forum that they cut lots of content from the game (one of the most important one was nudity lol). After that I asked for a refund. I'll buy the game again when they fix something.

And people wonder why I don't jump in on launch day...

I don't buy games on launch too. It is only CP2077 because i thought this is like original Deus Ex but on a much much bigger scale with lots of things to do

In case people here would be curious to find out about it.

Something on this scale that's been hyped for so long, can only bring disappointment to most people. Not to mention, day one is always riddled with bugs, glitches, and performance issues. Here in about six months, it will be on sale and most of the major issues will be fixed so I'll be able to enjoy it from start to finish with minimal issues. Hell, they might even have some DLC out before I get around to buying it which will only make the experience better. Until then, I still have about 150 games in my backlog to tide me over.

Honestly, I've been enjoying it a lot. The story, important characters, visual appeal, setting, and plot are all well developed in my opinion. The game's combat is pretty bad, but it's much better than Fallout 76 for example. It's about on par with Fallout 4. I have a 3570k, 1070, and have been getting decent performance on high at 1080p. I've seen some buggy physics in the 30 hours I've played, but I haven't seen anything horrible like in the youtube videos. My biggest complaint is just that the generic enemies seem very out of place and annoying. Not enemies you find during missions, but just the random baddies that spawn in allies and on corners who will shoot at you just for being close to them.

I can definitely understand console complaints, but the game runs fine on my pc.

Did not like.
AI is so bad it ruins the immersion.
My buddy just stood there reloading and playing with his gun, never shot once.
Enemies werent any better.

And I'd like to point out no game since Deus Ex has impressed me as much as Deus Ex, and thats almost 20 years old now.

Which game is best of the Deuses?

The original Deus Ex has never really been surpassed in terms of scope and quality. Its super old now and there is a decent amount of gameplay jank and the graphics are ancient. The narrative and the options still hold up, and there are tons of mods for the game to help with its old-timeyness.

A worthwhile successor was Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which is a pretty decent "Shock-like" game, but it is definitely more constrained in scope and more heavily directed than the original Deus Ex was.

Have not played Mankind Divided yet, I heard the game was gorgeous, but high production values really cut into the amount of content and the game is extremely short and feels unfinished in the story department. It is a direct sequel to Human Revolution.

Deus Ex 2: Invisible War - A fairly mediocre game and easily the weakest out of the whole bunch. Severe hardware limitations of the early X360 era made the game extremely linear, claustrophobic, ugly, and greatly simplified over the original. I'd only play this if you're a hardcore DX fan.

Wasn't too enthused on this game, but despite all the drama I find myself increasingly interested in getting it. My 5700XT on UW is going to make me want to Upgrade though...

Just so you know the game doesn't properly support UW ratio correctly yet. Was surprised and annoyed about this myself when I realized I missed all the tutorial and tips screens becuause stuff is just cut off.

Ugh, great. Seems unacceptable in 2020, also seems like something far down the List of things needing dealt with.

I was thinking the same but I am hoping it's a quick change. I know some games that never got proper support at least you could do a hex edit and have it scaled correctly.

Nier: Automata still needs a fanbased patch to run on a proper native resolution, non ultra wide...

I was interested in that title but now that you mentioned that issue, I'll probably play it on the ps5 if I ever get to it.

Well, I am still sitting on "ancient" PC tech and won't be picking up this game until I can upgrade hardware ("ancient" as in i7-3770, 670GTX, and 16GB DDR3). That said, I only game at 1920x1200, so it handles a lot of games still. But I know it can't deal with latest generation games.

Eventually I will see a 3070/3080 or their TI or super (response to AMD) releases and get a card (hopefully one that fits in my case as cards keep on getting longer every year).

I've got my Vega 64 putting out ~50fps at 3440x1440, with very decent settings. Plays really well.

You'll be fine.

some of the freeze bugs during fights have been piling up on me, gets damn annoying when your finder slips and triggers a scan while trying to dodge or something and the game just poops you into an endless loop of slow mo scanning with no way to escape it.

it also might be a mod that I installed somewhere (I hope it isn't a perk...I don't think it's a perk, because if it's a perk that I spent, this really sucks), that slows time on a CD when you dodge or something, because I need to turn that off. that thing just sort of ...happens and it is both unintuitive and just flat out doesn't work. AND, if it's actually causing a bunch of freezes, because it both isn't working like it's supposed to and, well, because this game has bugs...then that sucks. Far as I know, only way I have seen to reset perks is to spend $100k. hopefully you can find these gizmos and maybe even get them as rewards for things, like helping out factions.

...the side quests are really great though, and surprisingly expansive. I can tell that if you don't really take the time to follow up on those characters you meet, you can easily miss out on probably the majority of the game if you just stick to the main quest line(s), most of the way through.

I haven't had an issue with it for a couple of days now. But when it did crop out the edges, it was quite annoying. reloading a save always worked. restarting by checkpoint always seemed to break it for me.

by the way, I haven't yet played a game that really supports UW--meaning, cutscenes menus, just all the way through, no hex editing. Only game that I've gotten it to look good and proper, was AC Odyssey, but yes, that required--and I assume still requires--Hex edit to make it work during cut scenes. I got so sick of having to re-fix the .exe file every time they patched the game. I mean...it's just barely a line of code or whatever. Why can't they put this crap in games from the beginning?

Interesting, perhaps because when I started the game I always hit continue rather than load game maybe it caused that?

I'll keep that in mind for next time I boot it up. It does autosave anyway so who knows.

It probably is a small code fix I'm not sure why they don't have it in there from the beginning, laziness I suppose. From what I remember witcher 3 supports our resolution just fine.

Missed out on a 3080 at the Asus store tonight. Damn store was loading so slow. They have been going in stock the past few days consistently.
