I ordered a PS5 just to play this game. I don't know what to do now.
There are several ps4 game for free that you missed if you have psn plus, comes with the purchaas of the ps5. There is also demon souls, spiderman, etc.

This game runs fine on ps5 though. You shouldn't have any issues playing Cyberpunk if you are using a ps5.

Now if you ordered a ps4 to play cyberpunk, then you have an issue.

Oh I thought both the PS4 & PS5 had issues with this game. Thanks for clearing that up.

The PlayStation version of the worst version with the lowest quality graphics settings and the lowest object density(less on screen). The ps5 just runs it 2x better than the PS4, the graphics and bugs are the same though. So take from that what you will.

You should never buy a console for just one game. Thats been true since at least the NES.
The main reason I sold my N64 so quickly is almost all the game were garbage. I jumped on the Sony bandwagon because it had a crapload of games any many of them were good.
I got the Xbone just to see what all the fuss was about and amazingly I loved it. After FM6 I got FH2 and then FH3 and FH4 and FM5 and finally FM4, which was not so great.
Oh, and eventually FH which was a good start to the series but I'm glad they eventually added a lot more cars and features.

I couldn't get a 3080 so I took a chance on the PS5. It's not the only game that I'll play on it. I'll get the new version of MLB the show, and may try the new Spiderman game. Then again maybe I'll just get the PC version of CP2077. Perhaps my 2080ti will surprize me.

Your 2080ti should be fine. I'm running it at 3440x1440 with a 1080ti and I'm getting 40-50fps with modified settings per the digital foundry guide. I have not played a lot since the 1.05 patch yet to see if performance got worse.

lol, you're worried about 2080ti?

my vega64 is fine at 3440x1440 (50fps; high-medium settings). From the earlier posted setting videos, like DF mentioned just right there^, and a couple of other tubers--the hit with RT is so bad, and the quality without it already quite spectacular (the lighting and reflections, without RT, are actually quite amazing in this game) is to the point that you really shouldn't even consider RT in this game. Not this generation of cards, anyway. It simply isn't needed. It's not even available on the console versions (AMD hardware), because CDPR currently doesn't support AMD's RT implementation. ...that might happen by the end of next year, but I think they have bigger problems to sort out.

I doubt you would ever be able to tell a difference if you're just playing the game. If all of your time is spent trying make screencaps, then, maybe, ...I guess....but what a horrible way to spend $60.

The game is buggy. A lot of studios release buggy games, which sucks, but it's not something that I consider unplayable, 50 hours in without a single CTD. I've had to load out of some janky game-freezes (one of your main mechanics, the scanning thing to do all of the hacky surveying netting things--think detective mode in the Batman games), likes to get stuck, slow down, and lock up. (it's a hold to activate function).

save often. make multiple saves. many of them, lol.

Cool! I was also getting a 48" LG CX for this game, but Best Buy sent me a broken one, and didn't have any stock. My local store has it in stock now though, so I may go for it.

Oh man, you're doing the whole thing! I was considering getting one of those by the end of next year, but I just can't justify it right now, lol. I keep pushing myself back to why I went UW 1440 in the first place--great visually, and doesn't cost more than 2x as much to power it compared to 4K, haha.

(Though, I'm still thinking about the 65 or the 78" CX for the main TV....but now it's getting nuts. I'm also thinking UST projector)

Running native 4k on that monitor might be difficult but you can turn down settings that affect performance most.

I wanted one of those for my desk but it is too damn big for my desk and to use as a monitor. My perfect monitor would be 34 inches 4k with high refresh rate. Aside from ultrawide I have not found it yet.

For the brief time that I had one, I think that I could live with the size. My screen was cracked though, so I had no image.

MLB the show is now multi platform. the MLB threatened to pull the exclusivity contract from the developer if they did not produce the game for all platforms.

well, my comparison was for primary TV purposes for that, and the cross shopping was the 65 or 75 inch in that class--the 75 inch being the same cost as that Optoma P2, as a "price standard" that I am considering...well, actually about $300-500 more than the projector...plus, the physics of dealing with that large thin glass sheet thingy. I dunno....

I'm about 75 hours in on my first playthrough, on PC. Playing on a Ryzen 5 5600X and Radeon 5700 @ 1440p, mostly high settings, with some things tuned down to medium. Motion blur and chromatic aberration off, as that just makes the game look like a blurry ugly mess. Kept the film grain on for aesthetic and cranked up Radeon Image Sharpening to 50%. Game looks freaking fantastic, and that image sharpening really helps. I'm averaging around 45fps, get some dips down to 40, some spikes up to around 50. It's playable enough given that it's not a twitch shooter, but I would like to get up to 60fps at some point.

Regarding the bugs...95% of all glaring issues disappeared when they released v1.04 patch for me. I started playing on v1.02 and that was awful...people and objects constantly sinking into the ground, floating, walking into the air, missions not starting or failing to progress, etc. They fixed a ton with v1.03 and I considered the game completely playable for v1.04 now. Got the v1.05 patch the other day, but didn't notice it change much...mostly quest related things I hadn't gotten to, yet. It did remove my Ryzen SMT hex optimization, but that only added about 1fps boost to my performance, so an unnoticeable loss. About the only bug I see now is a minor NPC character animation glitch maybe once an hour or so, which doesn't bother me. Only other thing I've encountered was relic malfunction mode got stuck on permanently some how one time, but restarting the game fixed it. Game hasn't crashed since v1.03 so it's been stable. Using the latest AMD Radeon drivers approved for Cyberpunk 2077 support.

As far as the game itself...I'm obviously enjoying it, being 75 hours in and still on my first playthrough. I've actually only explored maybe 40-50% of the city so far, mostly in Watson and Westbrook. The gun play is decent enough for the genre, but it won't blow you away. The added mix of stealth and hacking mid-combat does add a little spice to it, so it's enjoyable. The AI in combat can be a bit dumb, as sometimes they will turn to run/hide and leave themselves exposed in the process. The open world is fun to explore, but I think the biggest weakness of the game here is that you can't do as much random stuff here like you could in Witcher 3. For instance, in W3 you could go to any bar/tavern and order a drink, or strike up some conversation with a random and play them in a game of gwent. In CP2077, while there are a lot of bars/food vendors, you can only "order" from specific ones, and even then you're not actually ordering anything from them, the game presents them to you as if you were at a weapon's shop, and they always have the same food/drinks. It's a bit of a glaring blandness in an otherwise incredible world and probably where many of the complaints of "the game doesn't feel alive" stem from.

The story, characters, and voice acting are top notch. Anyone that says otherwise is crazy. It can be a little confusing at first because the game kind of drops you in and expects you to know most folks at first as opposed to easing you into it, but once you get comfortable, things really take off from there. You'll quickly discover who the major characters are, and will find yourself doing hours upon hours of missions just with/for them. And there are a ton of missions. You've got multiple interweaving main quests, which push the "story progression" along, and then you have the side quests where you really see major and minor characters develop. Then you've got your standard fare fetch/kill/hack/investigate "gigs" that are basically your busy work to earn money. It works quite well.

Overall, as the game is now I'd probably give it an 8.5/10, as there are definitely things they can improve on. Boosting performance a bit more and adding some small spice of life things to the open world (actual food/bar vendors and not just a couple shops, small random things to do) would go a long way to getting this game near Witcher 3 levels. They could also stand to improve the "Wanted" system where you break the law, as you can run away from the scene of a crime and your crime eventually is "forgotten". I can see these changes being done, and it may take DLC, but it's got the potential. Still having a great time, though.

- Thanks for that. So much of the focus of this game release has been on the bugs that I haven't seen quite as many people taking about the game itself.

Sounds like the game has solid fundamentals, and will have a shot at meeting the hype with a couple more patches and some DLC.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that all the focus has been on the bugs, but they were (and still are, for console) a major issue. It's a shame they couldn't have pushed back the PC launch a week, and the console launch a month or two, but it is what it is. The underlying game is good, and I think many would agree. I do see quite a few folks burned by the bugs claiming the game itself is bad, but I think the majority of those are just scorned lovers that wouldn't say anything good about the game anyway.

right?

that's why I re-posted this review--it pretty such sums up everything this game is right now, especially those fundamentals that really does make it great...it just needs to shed some of the ugly bits of its husk right now.

dude compares this to sorta what happened with Vampire: Bloodlines...and anyone that gets that knows....you just played through the issues because there was so much going on that just works and you want to be there, etc...

Anyway, I think this review sums it all up, the state of it now, in the most honest way possible--by that I mean, I guess it's how I see this game right now, heh.

I guess they're not giving refunds because too many people asked for it. Sad. Oh well it is my fault.
