CyberWings "As You Wish" Hosting... SAME DAY SETUP!!!

I apologize if starting another thread is the wrong thing to do, but I think anyone looking at CyberWings who got discouraged by their LONG delay in setups will appreciate this information.

As you may have recently heard, Cyberwings has revamped our Hosting program and started to offer much more flexible, user controlled hosting packages. We are calling these our "As You Wish" Hosting Packages.

NO LONGER do you have to wait on Cyberwings to setup your accounts for you, YOU can set them up whenever you wish. We create your "As You Wish Hosting Package" within 24 hours of your ordering, and then YOU go in and start setting up your domains, assigning your own space & bandwidth to them, as you wish! Change space/bandwidth around, as you wish, remove domains, add new ones, all.... AS YOU WISH! Wow! And, to top it all off, beginning March 15th, 2002 we are guaranteeing SAME DAY SETUP on all AS YOU WISH Hosting Plans and RESELLER plans (this may change to 2-3 days if we get OVERWHELMED with orders, but we are going to do our absolute best to keep it all within the SAME DAY!)

HOW DO "AS YOU WISH" HOSTING PACKAGES WORK EXACTLY? It's really easy. When you purchase a "package" you are given a certain amount of web space and a certain amount of bandwidth for your TOTAL PACKAGE. When you create domains and/or subdomains in your account, you allocate to EACH domain/subdomain the amount of space & bandwidth you want that domain/subdomain to have. Once it's allocated to that account it is removed from your TOTAL PACKAGE allocation and you are left with a new balance of space & bandwidth to allocate to more domains/subdomains. For instance, on Plan 1, with 100mb and 12gb of bandwidth, you COULD setup 5 domains with 20mb of space each and 1.5gb of bandwidth each. Or you could divide it up any other way you see fit.

I doubt he's a CW employee. They are good guys and wouldn't mislead customers. As it cleaely says on their page:

The old "Plan 5" accounts had something like 115MB of server space with 6GB of bandwidth per month. Also, included 1 subdomain, and 1 mySQL database. The regular price was $7.80 per year, but with the 50% off sales it was running at $3.90 per year.


However, the new "As You Wish" plans aren't too bad either. I am personally thinking of going for the "AYW1" plan and paying with PayPal. That would be $30 a year for 150MB of server space and 18GB of bandwidth. That's not too shabby.


And the mandatory disclaimer.... I do not work for cyberwings. Just a customer with several accounts already.

I wish I had money...oh well gotta just get the 50% more bandwidth using my cc instead of paypal. I definitely need the bandwidth bigtime
144GB/month + 50% more = (144/2=72 + 144 = 216) 216GB /month or 2.5TB/year all for only $155/yr or $12.92/month. Hopefully I won't exceed it but I served nearly 15GB in like 20 days last month. Dang I remember paying $35/yr for a domain and $10/month for 500mb space and unlimited bandwidth (but couldn't host .zip files, etc.). Times have definitely changed.

One noteworthy feature of the new plans is that they can host multiple domains; Also, as far as I know, you needn't link it with any one particular domain. so when you get tired of mycrappyidea.com and decide to let bonjoviluvr.org expire, you don't have to pay a fee to have it changed. i think that it would also make keeping track of billing and stuff easier, as you'll only have one login name for management of all your domains.

Aside from the hassle, I do think the old plans were a better deal when one does the math, but the new ones are certainly more attractive than anything i've seen offered by resellers, much less true-blue hosting companies.

Why is everyone so paranoid over them going under? Heck, for most of you, you're sites have been up for over a month already which already paid for itself essentially with the measely $3.90.
