Wow, they really raised their prices! I'm glad I got in when I did. I got a handful of P5 packages, for less than half of their current lowest price plan.

My personal experience with Cyberwings has been relatively good (and great, considering the price). Their backlog delays are understandable when offering such a good deal, but it is unaccepatable when some people fall through the cracks.

Anyway, my story: I signed of for a handful of P5 plans about a month ago. They were set up in a timely manner. One of the domains, was a site I've had in mind for a long time, so that's the one I put the most work into. It's working quite well and the site is growing. The speed isn't the fastest, but it's acceptable (I used to have a really fast host). Oh, I just remembered this is AT, which is really slow. Don't worry, Cyberwings is much faster than the AT forums!

So now my one site is doing pretty well. One of the other plans I signed up for was for a domain that I have been hosting on another host for the past few years. I decided to see how things went with my first Cyberwings effort, before moving my other site. Now a month later (this week), after being quite satisfied with the performance of my new site, I moved my older site over to Cyberwings and cancelled my other hosting service.

To put things in perspective, the bill for the next 3 months of service that I now don't have to pay to my old host is equivalent to 2 years Cyberwings hosting with 10 times the disk space and multiple domains. Cyberwings is ideal for a modest traffic site (I don't have experience with a mega-hits site).

Thanks to AT for pointing out this deal and thanks to Cyberwings for offering it. The best thing is that I finally got to work on a site I've had in mind for a long time.

New prices are cheaper to from my perspective. I have two plan 6 of the older plans..8GB/month -- 96GB/yr which cost $25/yr and one I got for 50% off $12.50/yr...now you can get for $30/yr a whopping 12GB/month - 144GB/yr for $30/yr . To me they've lowered the prices in my eyes.

About that cc to paypal. I haven't a clue. I signed up a couple years ago with paypal and it's always pulled in from my bank checking account. I just last month discovered you didn't need a balance and it auto yanks it. Anyway I'm more exicited getting 216GB/month (up from 144GB) than could've getting 975MB space up from 650MB space.

mrbass - FYI - You can use PayPal to send payments with your credit card! All you have to do is

1. Add your credit card to your PayPal account.
2. Click on "Send Money" and fill out the form.
3. Click on the "More Funding Options" link.
4. Click on the "Credit Card" radio button to select a Credit Card payment.
5. Click the "Continue" button.
6. At this point, you will be challenged as to whether you REALLY want to change from using your bank account to using your credit card. Click the 'Yes' button to go back to the Send Money form.
7. Review the Send Money form for accuracy.. you can select "No Shipping Address required" if you want.. and then submit your payment!

Note: Once you reach the payment submitted screen, be sure to click on the "details" link to see your full payment details, complete with transaction ID -- you will need that to get Cyberwings to set up your account by going to the AYW Plan Ordering page..

Good luck!

Has anyone had experience with getting one of these newer AYW (As
You Wish) accounts set up? I signed up for one last weekend, and
the stuff on the website made me think that these accounts would
be set up much more quickly than the $3.90 accounts everyone is still
waiting for.

But since PayPaling them the money and the form, I haven't heard a single
peep from them, not even an acknowledgement that they got the money.

Can't say that thrills me...

Kwad, that's not a good thing. Like you, I'd assume the AYW accounts are setup within a timely manner compared to the previous $3.90 P5 account madness.

Although I had to wait forever getting 6 P5 hosting accounts for $19.50/year was an awesome deal!

Cyberwings' internet provider must have gone down. I can't access their homepage, or my website right now.

login to their irc channel and read the subject
Right now it says "We have completed 29th of April orders"
I ordered May 8th...so I'm still waiting but it'll be worth it.

I went to their chat site. Was told they are having "human" issues with setting up the accounts. They must have gotten HAMMERED with those cheap host plans. I signed up for one on May 12th. Was told that I will not receive anything from them until I am set up. I hope they do this soon. My other server ends the end of June. The account I signed up for is still much cheaper with more space and more transfer than what I am doing now. I can wait a while. I just hope that what is going on now is not going to continue in the future and have a negative affect on my site!

You're right. According to a post by the CEO in their forums, they signed up 7000+ web sites during the months of March and April. I'm not sure what the average is but it seems the small staff at Cyberwings has their hands full.
