It's not a scam, I signed up when the original deal was posted and have had nothing but fantasic service (and for cheap!) from them. If you don't believe me see for yourself, it's nice and fast with no noticable downtime.

Actually I should note that I got two accounts and the one above seems faster on connection than the second one they gave me, which uses different nameservers and a different server. The only weird thing I've noticed about them is that their quality of service varys by server. (which are suppossed to be the same)

First - where are the board mods - this is not a hot deal!

Second - cdw9789 you can go in and edit your original post so you don't look so crazy.

Third - Cyberwings has delivered everything they promised me. I got 3 P1 Plans (only 15 mb but enough for what I need). I will PM you the links if you want them, but they all have referral codes on them so I don't want to piss of the mods, not that they are checking. My only complaint was that setup took 1 month, but for $2.10 per plan per year who can complain.

Their new deals may be more expensive, but is it really worth a degrading post here???

Geez, its only the junior members.

For $3.90 a year and with all the options it has, man I'd be willing to wait a year possibly. Theyir not taking off any days off your plan until its up so stop your whining.

Cyberwings is not a scam, I currently have 4 active accounts with them. It's true that their setup time is long and plesk 3 is having database and downtime problems, but the long wait is worth it and they are replacing plesk 3 with a new server. The only gripe I've with the old plans is the low bandwidth amount, their new plans are much more generous on bandwidth.

Attention new members...
Hot deals is not the place for you to spout off slanderous accusations, or really even post your opinions.

Cyberwings is a fine company, with great deals and excellent support. If you had been ripped off of hundreds of dollars, then you would be slightly more justified to have made your comments, but you were not. Just because it is taking a little while to get your account set up means nothing!
Have you contacted them at all? I am sure that they will have your account set up soon, and if not, quite your bitching! For $3.90 you should be willing to wait two months!
This is the deal of the year, and any length of time is worth waiting!
Please do not make such posts until you can back them up. Hundreds of AT members have sites hosted at Cyberwings and are very happy.
If you feel the need to keep complaining, take it to their support site.

Take it easy on the newer members guys. They mean no harm. You all know just as much as I do that any company that keeps pushing back fulfillment dates (i.e. Dell, Staples, Buy.com, whoever) deserves a good ole fashion a@@ chewing. It's common practice. Don't let your activated cyberwings account bias your opinion. Many have been served. Many have not.

I myself have two accounts still outstanding, but I won't lose sleep over 'em. Years of hot deals have taught me one thing, beware of the Anandtech effect.

just give cyberwings a little time. you'll realize it is a hot deal. i have 2 sites up and 3 more on the way. they never fail to deliver what they promise. and they did say it'll take time to setup all the accounts because of the crazy influx they got when they started that awesome deal. look at other webhosting prices... they are all at least 10 times as much. it's well worth the 1-2 week wait.

Cyberwings is slow to provision but after that support is acceptable, page loads are fast, and overall it has worked well for me. Too bad the owner at Anandtech didn't jump on this deal as I think this is about the slowest site that I visit :frown:

Very speedy for me. It's only slow when you don't subscribe. There's more dedicated servers and bandwidth for subscribers.

I got my account, yes it may take a while, but I think it was well worth the wait. Service is great, and price is unbeatable. I got 5 but only activated one so far.. keeping a few extra just in case. At $3.95/year, I can afford to splurge a little..

I have been charged at April 5 by paypal. But never received the setup email.
I have used the chat room and had been directed to the forum.
However, after I followed all the direction on that forum to send email
to oders@cyberwings.com, no reply, no email, absolutely nothing.

I have tried to email several times already, no one replied me so far.
I think my 3.90 is gone, anyway, cyberwings is not great to me.

Those bastards! What a bunch of jerks, intentionally making their site virtually unusable unless you pay. Here all this time I thought AT was slow because the webmaster was stupid. What a f'ing weasel.

Dude, if you don't like it, go elsewhere. I find the forums bearable without suscribing.
Anyway, can't believe this thread hasn't been locked. In all things, there will be the bad eggs, I feel sorry for the people that may have been unintentionally screwed by Cyberwings, but just to speak up for them, I've had good experiences with them for my first account way back when. Still waiting for my second account to be activated.

...I just want people to be aware that this "hot deal" or any other offered by CW bears scrutiny.

I'll bet you can find what's wrong with ANY situation...you pride yourself on your scrutiny. Relax. Hey if I was selling a years worth of hosting for the price of a combo meal I'd expect to get in the weeds too. Frankly I don't know how these guys are doing it...especially putting up with all the anals. Personally, I have had NOTHING but an excellent result trading my lunch for a years worth of hosting...even if it took a while to get it set up. Heck, if it had taken another month to get up and running BIG DEAL! It's F O U R dollars! If you were expecting to use this account for an on time, mission critical purpose anyway then you are getting exactly what you scrimped on...have you called Verizon for a quote lately? Relax, have a beverage, your account wil get up sooner or later...or whenever...four bucks...bargain...patience...beam me up...

This is now a lot more like Cyberrebates. Those who got their rebates defended how good the company was, even though they have no idea how the business model could work. Those who finally got screwed were screaming and trying to sue their credit card companies. But I guess for 4 buck, nobody cares if they go under.

I was told I'll be set up in a couple weeks. I'll reserve judgement till they have a chance to deliver as promised. I had never thought about starting a site before, so now I have 3 domains registered, and the Cyberwings deal has been a good kick in the a$$ , if anything.

Yup, I had no real problem, I got my account set up within a couple days of the 10 period they noted when they told me about the delay due to the large response. when I was concerned I sent an E-mail, and I allmost imediatly recieved 2 emails back detailing the trouble, and then had me set up in fine time. for what the cost is... I'm satisfied, and enjoyed the fact that the ceo is hands on.
