Cyberwings problems

Cyberwings is apparently having problems with their upstream provider. None of their sites can be acessed. They say it has nothing to do with their servers. If you're wondering why your cyberwings account isn't working, that's why. Here's the exact quote from their IRC channel:

The errors you are receiving are NOT from CW Servers. The UPSTREAM PROVIDER is experiencing network difficulties. We will provide you with more information when we receive it.

I hope they get this fixed ASAP.

That's weird. Well mine (www.crotoan.com) definetely doesn't work.

Mine works fine too. Although I'm on a Cobalt Server, not a plesk. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Both of mine are on plesk i think.

My first account that I signed up for when the Plan 5 / $3.90 deal was on is working fine and I've never noticed any downtime. The one I activated recently has gone down about 3 times for many hours the past 3 weeks.


The one that is okay is using NS9.GROUPNS.COM as it's primary DNS.

The one with problems is using NS17.GROUPNS.COM. Too bad this is the one I use a lot more than the other.

i'm not impressed with their service. i mean, come on, if you offer $3.95 a year, fine, and if you offer 99.8% uptime, ok. but this isn't 99.8% uptime

i did a tracert on my domain name. the packet ends up bouncing around 2 servers, back and forth. wtf!

ugh. this is ridiculous. and to think i decided to stop hosting my own site so that i could improve uptime. what a joke!

They offer 98% uptime.

If you knew how to read a traceroute, you'd notice the router loop is outside their network. Sh!t happens.

Rendus, sitting in #cyberwings right now explaining the same thing, over and over, to every single person who comes in whining.

My site's fine. It's down sometimes...but only for like 5 minutes. The only other negatives are when it takes a real long time to transfer files via FTP.

Unfortunately, 98% uptime still allows them to be down for more than a week STRAIGHT each year.

I'm so glad that my main personal website is hosted by Dixiesys.com which has been bullet proof reliable so far, the tech support is quick and friendly. Yes it costs a whopping $19.95 a year but it's worth it.

Yep, both of mine are down... My sites at 3-95.com are still up just like Rossy...

In terms up uptime, yes. But one thing ive noticed, my cyberwings accounts seem to have a faster connection... My 3-95.com sites seem a little sluggish at times compared to the cyberwings ones.
