On a D2Ol note (Newbie here), it's been running for about 6 hours now and has a list of 10 Conformers and growing (whatever that is) but nothing processed yet. What does all that mean???

After it goes through 20 conformers then you will have produced 1 candidate (work unit). Sic hours is deffinetly way too long unless you are running it on a P100 or something.

My XP1800+ burns through candidates in an average of 23 minutes each.

The best part about my new job is that I get to bring the joy of the internet to everyone I meet. I install cable internet.

It has prolly done several candidates but it resets the list of conformers. I did wonder my the amount of conformers kept jumping around at first

And I think my little problem of the rebooting computers is sorted as 'touch wood' since I turned off reboot on error it hasn't rebooted once

Odd, the Team stats site reports 2 completed Candidates although the program still says only 1 processed.
What's conf's, there is 40 of those to the 2 completed Cands shown.

DM, there are 20 conformers in each candidate. Most computers can crunch through a conformer in 30sec to 5 min a piece. Although it can vary greatly depending on the virus being targeted, rotatable bonds, molecules...etc...etc

OK, interesting. It's up to 5 processed now. Looks like SETI will take a 25% hit. Obviously not an expert on this D2OL times yet but based on what you guys said should be the times, it looks like D2OL takes a higher hit sharing the CPU than SETI does, probably closer to 75%. Sounds like a pretty good compromise to have two different projects going at same time. I would probably not run the two if SETI took a 50% hit like you might expect would happen, but I was pretty sure that would not happen since SETI is so Memory intensive.

I ran both SETI and D2OL on a PIII933 and while the SETI times were the same (just half the number of total WUs) the D2OL performance was abou the same as my PIII500. So I decided to do either/or but not both on each computer.

I've been trying to keep it on Dualie rigs.. seems to share nice that way. I am losing some SETI power ( about 12+ Wu's a day) and that kinda bugs me. My support may become and on/off situation.
