15,000 of my fellow Canadians rushed Juno beach on D-Day in 1944.. they fought valiantly and took command of the second most heavilly fortified beach (Omaha being the most heavilly fortified). The brave Canadian men, at the end of the day, had avanced soo far into enemy territory that they were all awarded medals...
A french soldier, who was told that allied forces has taken Juno beach and were moving forward, was quoted as saying "C'est Impossible" (that's impossible), he was then told it was Canadian soldiers who took Juno Beach and he remarked "Ah, les Canadians.. oui c'et possible" (Oh yes the Canadians.. yes it's possible then).
How our military has dwindled from the 3rd largest force in the world to a small band of brave soldiers is a story to tell. I suppose Canadians only really rise up to challenges as a last resort. After all.. we are just like Americans, save we cherish diplomacy first.
