Just wanna add my 2 cents as I own this router (black friday Best Buy deal).
From having read everyone's comments, and reading information from various websites, I think the problem with all the disconnects between the D-Link 614+ and wireless products has to do with the wireless card that you are using. My Sony Vaio laptop came with a built in MiniPCI Lucent Orinoco 802.11b wireless card, which is basically the standard for wireless networking, yet I have had a pretty difficult time getting the D-Link 614+ router to play with my wireless card nicely. I finally got WEP working properly after spending a good part of the day reconfiguring everything and upgrading all drivers and firmware, but I am still experiencing random disconnects from the Internet. I thought this was a WEP issue, yet it's still happening when I disable WEP, so I think there is a problem between my wireless card and the D-Link router. Someone at another forum said they had similar trouble and that they believed it was a slight incompatability as well. I have contacted D-Link and they are looking into the matter, but my guess is that this problem will not be resolved until another firmware update comes out for the router, or another driver for the Lucent Orinoco series wireless cards is released.
After rebates, I got the device for $49 + 0.0825 * 119, so I'm not complaining, but I would really appreciate anyone letting me know if they were able to solve this random droppouts issue using a D-Link 614+ wireless router and a Lucent Orinoco wireless card. At my university, we have wireless everywhere and I never have a single issue no matter what I do, so I know that painless wireless networking is possible, but so far I haven't been able to achieve it with my current combination of devices.
