I'm in Illinois...I don't think the sale at OM has started yet though, I'm unsure.

I called 3 CC stores in Northern 'burbs of IL, but only 1 of them has them in stock. I gotta check out OM tomorrow to see if the sale has started.

Alll the excitement is killing me. I picked one up today at Chesapeake, VA. Will Office Max offer that price here and if so how much of a hassle will the PM be?

I walked into Circuit City with the idea to buy this product and walked out with an open box Toshiba e740 for $519 - $50 rebate. That is a lot of money that I did not plan on spending. Im replying on the Tosh via the wireless hookup thanks to this product. I didn't plan on spending another almost $500!!

One thing that I have just noticed - the DLink AP that i have in my hand from CC has a different box. It's got to be the same product - USB, 2.4 GHZ wireless AP but the box is different.

Wonder what I'm in for..

Hein, I noticed this as well - it's still the 900AP, but it's a newer box @ OfficeMax. But, if you bought it this week and merely go in with the circular from upcoming week's OM, the CC folks won't be looking at a box in your hands (only a receipt) so it won't give them an extra opportunity to get confused.

hey guys, I got in on this one but it was a lot of work. This is what I did. I first bought the 900ap at CC for full price. Then I went to office max with a print out of the online ad and bought one for 59.99. Then I went to another local CC and told them I just picked up the same access point from OM for 59.99 and showed them the reciept and the box. They checked both boxes (since they look different) and the upc numbers and model #'s match up, so they gave me the 110% diff back with minimal hassle. And the rebate didn't print out when I did the price adjustment so they didn't even know to give me trouble for it. I will go back to OM to return the other Access point later. So I ended up getting it for $51.95 before rebates It was worth the hassle for me though. HOpe this helps some of you.

Just wanted to say a big THANKS for this deal. I picked up 2 without very little hassle. I think I can use one in 'client AP mode' to act as an ethernet-to-wireless bridge for my Xbox. The hassle I got was that the first CC I went to was out, even though their website and their in-store system said they had 2 in stock. Maybe some employee picked up on it first? Went to another one and they had 2! Purchased them both (on seperate receipts). Went back today with OM ad and printout from website showing their number and the product number. She asked the manager, he approved without me even seeing him. Went back to my car to get the other receipt and did it again.

For it breaks down like this:

179.95 CC Price
10.80 Tax
190.75 Total
-131.96 PM
- 7.92 PM Tax
= 50.87 Before Rebate
- 50.00 Rebate
+ .37 Stamp
= 1.24 Each

Success! Not quite as great as some of you but still very good success.

Office Max lists only a few printer specials on their online ad. In the store they told me that they did not have a Sunday ad, just a few 'in store' specials. I looked over the 'in store' specials and it looked like the same ones I found online.

So I picked up both this access point ($119.99 on the shelf) and the Wireless Router model 713 (I think) ($199 on the shelf) and had them scan them at the register. The Access Point came up $89.99 on the register and the router came up $99.

You would think that the router would be the better deal and for some of you it will be.

At Circuit City the router is $189 with a $30 rebate (I think, I might be off by $5 somewhere.) The Access Point is $179 with a $50 rebate. So would I try to PM to the router for a final cost of about $60 for the router or for about $30 for the access point.

I chose the access point because I already have a router and the extra $30 would be wasted, at least until the faster technologies like 802.11a become available. It took 30 minutes for the cashier to get Office Depot on the phone and verify the $89.99 price but I got a final credit of $98.97 making the access point around $78 - $50 rebate. Can't beat that!

there's still 2 or more instock in PONTIAC, MI. summit malls. bought the 900ap yesterday and went back to pm. no prob. a little waiting though because the cs have to see the manager and verify the info due the big different in price.

i bought the 900ap and 520. after pm, the total come out to be 98.48. rebate is 60. so 38.48 for ap and nic. not bad.

Print out the opening main page, showing all the small pages. At the top of this it says in-store (some not available on-line or for phone orders) and to show at the check out to get these prices. Also, on the back of that page, print out an enlargement of the page with the D-link DWL-900AP.

Thanks for getting this info out last week. I bought mine last night for $196.xx after tax. Went back today and got my 110% price match. Girl didn't know how to read the receipt to see if I had the right item to price match, so she had a find a manager and get it OKed. He said it was legit, and 20 minutes later, I get $144.xx back. After stamp, envelope, tax, and rebate, mine will work out to about $2.50. They still had one when I left last night, but had none when I went back today to do the price match. I was thinking of buying the remaining one when I went in.

Well, I struck out again in Cary, NC :|

Everything was going smooth:

1) The girl called OM to verify price and part #
2) The girl called CC headquarters to verify part# and price
3) Girl checks OM sales flyer to verify product
4) Girl is ready to ring up sale when BASTARD manager walks over and asks what's going on...

Then it all goes downhill from there. He tries to give me some bullsh!t response that OM has old stock of the 900AP and that's why they're selling them for $59.99. He says that nothing else can explain the big price difference. He then walks back in the back to verify, then comes back and gives me two bullsh!t responses. He says the two are NOT the same...the version CC carries is newer b/c:

1) Has a different chassis ...WTF???
2) The encryption is faster... DOUBLE WTF????

I argued with him for about 5 mins before I basically said screw you, I'll go buy it at OM.
