If the only difference bewteen the 524 and the 624 is 54mbps vs 108mbps, don't waste your money on the 624.
I have the 624.
In order to use the "Turbo Mode" several conditions must be met.
1. Only chanel 6 can be used
2. All devices must be "turbo mode" enabled
3. All devices must be 802.11g.
If any of the above conditions are not met, you will default back to 54mbps operation.
I'd also like to add a 4th item. All network products should be d-link 108mpbs turbo enabled. I have another card that is "turbo enabled" that I couldn't get to connect at 108mpbs..... After getting "help" (cough cough) from dlink, they just pretty much told me that the turbo-mode isn't supported for non-dlink products.
Anyways...... do you really transfer that much data between devices? If so, get a freaking 100mbps or 1Gbit wired connection.....
But other than that, that my Di-624 rocks!!! use my own radius server for encryption, 802.11g only, no SID broadcast, and MAC filters.... pretty darn hard to get on my wi-fi network. Especially considering the 3 other AP's I can see are WIDE OPEN with default configs!
