Hey guys;
I posted in another section explaining that on boot-up, Vista 64 would freeze while the green bars were loading the OS. I took out my D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G and that was the problem. I checked on the Microsoft compatibility site, and the exact model (DWL-G520) was said to be compatible with Vista 64-bit; however, the picture of the card is different. I bought my PCI wireless card about 4, maybe 5 years ago; do you think it isn't compatible because it was made that long ago?
Also, the ethernet port on my P5Q PRO motherboard seems to be defective; I installed the Gigabyte Ethernet Drive from both the included CD and from their website (transferred drive from internet from a working laptop) and still, it isn't picking up my connection to my router/modem...it doesn't even seem to recognize it's existence!
I'm having trouble because I need the internet to install all my needed drivers, etc; and I can't connect to the internet!? Is there something else I need to do to get the ethernet port to work, or do I need to get an ethernet PCI card? Also, do you think a new wireless PCI card is in order if I want to connect wireless-ly?
Thanks everyone!
