Jackass.

I hope that he is only joking.

JACKASS racist comment with absolutely no support what so ever is not well received even by anyone of any race. If you think its funny, fine, say that you are only joking. Dont say things that you dont mean or have no evidence to support.

And btw, Japanese do not live on trees.

Anyway, since you brought this up then link us to some facts that support wireless networking with baby hazards.
Search "wireless" and "health" or other related words on www. google.com. You will find lots of infomation about that.

Although, it just "COULD BE" dangerous and hazardous to human health, I won't take any chance for my baby.

And, considering that, companies making wireless merchandise are trying every effort to convince people it's safe to use wireless stuff... for adults, in my point of view, it's better to keep away from wireless stuff as possible as we can.

YMMV.

You might want to keep your baby away from New York city or Chicago and may be some other big cities. I brought my laptop on the street in NYC once and you can easily pickup base stations everywhere. Oh... And all the starbucks......

Jeez. Talk about uptight. If youre so dense that you cant tell whether he was kidding or not without giving a disclaimer then you really need to buy one a few more deadbolts on your door and cut every cable that connects you to the outside world. There's nothing worse than people who take race so seriously...

And while you are at it, you probably don't want electricity in your house either.

The power level of the standard 30 mw radio in most 802.11b devices is such that at more than 5 feet from the radio the exposure is less than random cosmic radiation. So with your logic you will probably need to look for a different planet for your baby, "just to be safe".
Do you think baby monior gives off as much electromagnetic wave as your wireless router? I suppose your baby never allowed to reach 5 feet around the wireless router.

It is true, we are living in a world with electromagnetic wave everywhere. But it is different, when your body exposed to a electromagnetic wave emission source very close or with high energy. When time goes by, you will know what you paid.

Do you let your baby sitting besides the microwave? If so, I would say, God bless your baby! The leak out microwave is harmful to your eyes (the lens more accurately), extremly to your baby. Nobody knows this when microwave just come out.

Well, brave man, do what you want like never heard of what I said.

Yeah, you're probably right...I mean, it's okay to foster and perpetuate stereotypes about Asians because hey: there's no need to "uptight." Why take race so seriously, anyway? I mean, it's not like when making jokes about ____ being lazy or _____ being cheap or ______ being stupid, it fosters negative perceptions about _____ race. OH wait, what's that?? OH, you mean making racially insensitive remarks DOES perpetuate racism? What? You mean White isn't the all-supreme race??? DAMN!!! MY BAD!!! Dang, I'd better tell my fellow brothers at the next Klan meeting what I just learned and ask them to put away their burning crosses.

Yes, it is a fact that the Japanese were defeated in WWII, HOWEVER, the part where they should kneel down is a racist comment. Feeling superior over other races does have racial undertones to it. I mean heck, Hiltler and the KKK thought 'lesser' races should kneel down before them too.

Well, I've been exposed for the racist I am.

It's ironic that this subject is being debated...it is well known that the Japanese culture is one of the most Racist & Sexist on this planet.

Blah blah blah blah blah. Hey Captain Planet, get off your podium. I'm Asian and take no offense to it. I also take no offense to being stereotyped as a bad driver, a cheap-o, a ping-pong king or a computer programmer. So calm down and take offense to real racism rather than nitpick at immature jokes. The guy said that wireless networks has caused Japanese people to be short. Its an obvious joke that whiners love to hear so they get a chance to lecture the world. So just step back, reload your "im more evolved than you" gun and just wait for a REAL racist to pop out. :Q

Oh yeah. When is this thread going to get locked?

tin foil hats? foil underwear? Well the hyperspace radio receiver in my back molar doesnt have any foil protection. Maybe that's why I hear things?

Cant you just feel the love emanating from the group tonight?

Since we've already gotten this far, I might as well add my experiences. I got a Nokia cell phone a few years back and used it for about 2 months. One day when I went to get a haircut, my barber pointed to my head and asked what this thing was growing out the back of my head. I thought, "Is this guy nuts?" until I felt what it was. It was some kind of lump. I had to have surgery to remove it. I have no idea what it was, and the idiot doctor that I had remove it also had no idea.

Oh yea. tinfoil hat for crotch = tinfoil jockstrap

That is NOT cool. Who thinks like that?!? Man... you must have been one the characters in Deliverance.

BTW, I think babies damage wireless networks and not the other way around.

You forgot the one about being good at math. Like it or not, people's perception of you is heavily influenced by their preconceived notions about your ethnic appearance. Whether or not you take offense is irrelevant, because the perpetuation of stereotypes damages your image and acts as a barrier whenever you do anything that involves personal interaction. A person's perception of you may be partially based on these stereotypes, whether the person knows it or not. These stereotype ultimately hurt you, smart guy. So by hand-waving these stereotypes as just "immature jokes," you are inadvertently condoning jokes that eventually harm yourself. Personally, I find this pretty stupid.

There's also a stereotype that Asians are too passive to stand up and advocate for their rights -- whoops, looks like you've perpetuated that one too.

Mods...please don't lock this thread, move it to off topic. I have a lot to say. A guy from Alabama, using very poor english calling me a character from the movie Deliverance??? Well I never!!!! Humphhh!!!

Don't make me tell you about my grandfather and his injuries suffered at the hands of the Japanese in WWII. Then my father joins the military and spends time in Japan during rebuilding.....only to be shipped to Korea to be shot at by the Chinese. And my 3 uncles all serving in Vietnam. You, my friend, should open a history book and learn a little, ... and think long and hard about how this person got to the point where he "thinks like that". An awful lot of my family, sacrificed an awful lot of their blood, sweat, tears, time, and pain helping give/preserve the freedom of the people in that part of the world. We wouild all be speaking Japanese and living like animals/slaves at the hands of brutal Japanese oppressors if people like my Grandfather did not sacrifice 4+ years of their youth defending your right to shoot off your mouth.

As for wireless. Many lightbulbs put out 2.4 ghz radiation. Your microwave, cordless phones...

Japanese people are shorter, statistically. I dont think it was a derogatory remark at all.
He didnt say all asians are short.
