I'd definately send the original to the $40 rebate, that way you are safe with the it. Then try sending a copy to the $10 rebate with a not saying the original went to the $40 rebate. Worst senario, you're out a postage stamp and a 1/3rd cent evenlope.

I don't get what is going on here lately in the forums. Every time there is a rebate somebody whines about it. I have never, repeat never failed to recieve a rebate in the last 3 years.

I will openly admit that it requires some work on my part... I keep a spread sheet of the product bought, store, purchase date, rebate phone#/website and rebate amount. I also make copies of my upc's and rebate forms on my scanner. Then I wait. If I get a rejection I call up and complain and always get my rebate.

I have never had a problem that couldn't be resolved with a phone call to the rebate center, even with two rebates for one item.

There is one universal truth regarding rebates: No matter who you call prior to sending in your rebate request, each time you call, you will get a different answer regarding that rebate, because nobody really knows anything.

Your best bet is to submit both, as advertised, and see what happens.

I got a $20 rebate on a UPS about 6 weeks ago in 7 days from Circuit City. I almost fell over when I got the check, I kept staring at it...

I just picked up a DCF650W from the CC in VA (Columbia pike location). They had 3 left, now only 2 left The rebate form I received have the address going to CC in AZ and not to DLINK so I do not understand the earlier posts about calling the DLINK rebate lady. BTW, I bought two of them at first asking the sales guy if there was a limit to on the rebate. He told me no problem after talking to someone, but when the rebate printed it said one per person / per household. I then returned one, but two of the sales people told me that if I use my business address on one and my home on the other I would be okay. I did not feel like taking a chance so I returned one.

I got my Wireless Access Point to work by plugging it into a router that splits the DSL signal. I didn't think you could plug a WAP right into a desktop that wasn't set up to be an actual proxy server/firewall but I'm not an expert.

One thing I can't do this way is sync, though. Wireless syncing sounds great.

CyberZombie:

I'll try to clear things up for you. Just because the first line of the rebate address is "Circuit City Rebate" does not mean that it is going to Circuit City. The address on the rebate form for both the $10 and $40 rebates is P.O. Box 42908, Mesa, AZ. Now go to the D-Link rebate site here. Look at the address on their manufacturers rebates. It is exactly the same. That's why I'm saying that these are really D-Link rebates and why they will take just ONE rebate for the DCF650W. But since some people don't belive what I said in my earlier post, you can find out for yourself. Call the D-Link rebate center at 800-279-4784 and ask for "Susana". Ask her if they will honor both rebates. Then you can call "Makeda" at the Circuit City Customer Service at (877) 932-2225 extension 2508 and ask her the same question.

So if I am following your posts correctly, you do NOT expect the $10 rebate to be accepted and paid by D-Link?

InspectorGadget:

That's correct. I do not expect DLink to pay both rebates. However, I was at one of the local Circuit City stores today and they had the DCF650W in stock and the shelf tag showed the final price as $39.99 after $50 dollars in rebates. I told the manager my story about DLink stating that they would honor just one rebate. He said if that happens to bring the rejection post card and my paper work and HE would honor the rebate. So I'll send in for both and see what happens.

But this gets even better for me. I told him that I ordered this item at CircuitCity.com because the Circuit City web site showed it not being available for store pickup at all my local stores. If I had known he had it in stock, I wouldn't have had to pay the shiping charges. He then offered to make a price adjustment on my purchase for the amount of the shipping. What a country!

Does anyone have an archived copy of the rebate form? I called up CC and they said there was no rebate. Please post.

Thanks

Anyone have experience with the power consumption for this vs. the standard PCCard 802.11?
