<< Doesn't anyone have a receipt from Outpost where they've ordered on a weekend and it shipped on a different day? I find it hard to believe that the receipt would show an order date that's incorrect. >>

Just got an old invoice out of my closet. BOTH order date and shipping date was on there. In my case, it says on the receipt:
12/20/01 WQ499HAADZ..... 12/21/01 00002566 13 01
Anyway, I ordered yesterday and I believe D-Link will honor the rebate.

People. ITs simple. Your recepit is what you printed out showing the price and saturdays date if you ordered it while it was still in stock. It says 3/30/02. It says a pricce. It says outpost.com. It has your name on it. It even says recept. THAT IS YOUR recepit. I dont care what the shipping invoice says. I bought it on saturday March 30th 2002. I have a RECEIPT to proove it. why are people saying "we wont get the rebate?" Am I missing something here. It seems obvious to me. I dont care what people say over the phone I have a receipt that proves otherwise. The rebate gets maileed into dlink. They will see the receipt you hopefully printed out when you bought it. They will get a proof of purchase (UPC) to prove that you kept it and did not return it. They will send the rebate. That is how rebates work. This mob mentality "I wont get the rebate" is silly until someone tells me why they think they need the shipping invoice for the rebate. Read the rebate form it asks for a receipt. Send them your receipt simple. As far as the quality, yes it might suck. So what. Its free just scan your receipt rebate form and UPC code before you send them in. You will get the rebate. If they try to deny it, just email dlink your scans as proof.

its kinda hard to make out anything from it,so ill just go with the email reciept

<< its the 31st today, would the rebate still be valid if i ordered it today? >>

Hey I just went ahead and did it because I did in fact come to terms with the rules as the rebate says purchases made on FEB - MARCH 31
::crossing fingers::

If it doesnt go through oh well.. its just 40 bux...

I simply printed my web receipt which is dated today (31st) and I'll send that as my receipt. I do not think this is going to be an issue.

Thanks!

I saw this last night but it was OOS. Thanks to those of you who cancelled your order, I just got one.
I printed out the web receipt for the rebate.
The default shipping is second day for $7.47, changed it to ground for $5.12 to save a couple bucks.
Tax and shipping total $6.92 for Ohio.

I actually bought 2 of the earlier dmp-100 serial connection model for $20 each after rebate early last year from BestBuy and loved jogging with it. Gave one to a friend and then subsequently lost mine including a $60 32M SM card. Sounds like someone got it to work with a 64M card so that's even better.

One of the previous post mentioned that it works with 64M. Someone at Amazon got it to work with 128M so I am going to take a chance and order a 128M SM card.

that would be tight if it worked with a 128mb one

i just ordered my damn cf reader too

in fatw0llets, someone figured out how to reconvert their smartmedia back into the regualr format but i believe you need a smartmedia reader to use it

otherwise if your going to just use it for the mp3 player, it should be fine.

I keep hearing this web receipt thing, and is that just the confirmation of the order when you place it? I was in a hurry, and accidentally closed IE when it was ordered, and I haven't gotten an email yet (been maybe 10-20 minutes) and now im scared that this will be not good since I forgot to print it. Is there anyways to see that receipt that we ordered it through outpost? It didn't ask us to create an account, so I don't have a password for order tracking, and I don't have the order number, since I didn't print it out THANK YOU for any help

To clear a few things up....

the smart media card does get formatted, but supposedly from amazon reviews, there is a way to reformat to become usable.

the online recieipt comes on the last page when u click, no thanks to creating an account and want to print a summary. You missed it DanFungus

there's also a digital therometer for $2.99 sku# 3045349 which shouldn't bring ur shipping up much. mine came out to $6.02 for the two items. might come in handy when u get sick

i don't see how an mp3 player could suck so much unless u have problems copying songs from ur PC, especially for $30 & free after rebate.

Can you guys please post here how successful you were using SmartMedia cards larger than 32MB when you get the chance!!

i was planning on just printing out the email that i recieved after I ordered, wont that work?

edit:

also what you can do, is print out the order tracking page in outpost.com

it has all the important info, maybe you can attach a letter saying you forogot to print out the reciept when you ordered, and printed this instead

shouldnt be a big deal

I'm in! The Staples link on page 1 says it can go to 64mb. I saw this earlier but was afraid it only went to 3-31-02 and not through 3-31-02 as the rebate clearly states. If Outpost goes OOS and cancels, they cancel. Thanks for the thermometer idea, needed one of those too!! I got it ordered with an hour to spare.

To answer a few questions posted here:

It has 32Mb built in, and can take a 32Mb smart card, tops.
No, can't update the firmware.
Yes, once the smart card is formated for this player it's not good for anything else but the player,...which BLOWS because I've RA'd the one I've had for the past 8 months 4 TIMES and it's currently sitting on the shelf with a sticky note with yet another RA # waiting for me to decide if the $5 to ship it back to them is worth it. At this point I'm thinking no, except I am out a 32Mb smart card without this player working.

I wish I'd never formated that smart card for it and then I could happly toss it in the trash. If you miss out on this deal, you haven't missed a thing.

(by the way the techs you have to go thru to get an RA # to return it after it stops working know there's a problem with these things so at least getting an RA only takes a matter of seconds)

Seeing that they were back in stock on Sunday, I took a chance and placed an order with staples.com, adding a needed office supply to get the combined order well over $50. Called CSR on Sunday to PM, who claimed that my order was not yet in the system, and suggested I call back Monday to PM, as they would not be able to verify.

Called this morning, and spoke with Amanda.

Me: I would like to PM an item on my order XXXXXXXXXX. The MP3 player, item 447792.

Amanda: "One moment please". Puts me on hold. "Corporate office says we cannot PM this item, as their web site says as supplies last, and they are no longer in stock."

Me: "When I placed the order yesterday, the item WAS in stock. Your CSR wouldn't PM, and suggested I call back today. Did you check their current inventory?"

Amanda: "No, because we cannot PM this item."

Me: "Okay, then cancel my order."

Amanda: "One moment please." Puts me on hold. "Just spoke with my supervisor. If we can verify stock, then we will PM." Puts me on hold. "Okay, will PM $29.99, but add the $5.XX shipping. Total is $30.54."

Me: "Thank you very much."

i called the rebate people

all they want on the reciept is the purchase price, item description, order date, and something else

looks like the email reciept or the order tracking page will be ok

whats up with this amazon review Text

<< This MP3 player works great. I bought a 128MB smart media card for this and it can hold so much music now. I can get about 40 to 50 songs on here. The sound is perfect for what I need (mainly in class) and the batteries last fairly long. I personally bought rechargable batteries so I wouldn't have to worry about buying more all the time. I recharge the batteries while I sleep, just to be safe for the next long day at school. I would have opted for the DMP-120 with more memory, but i couldn't afford it. And since I got a 128MB smart media card for my birthday, I didn't miss the extra 32MB. Another great thing about this is voice recording. I occasionally make notes to myself, or record parts of my professors lecture, or just the homework they assign. In any case I recommend this MP3 player for students like myself who are on a budget. >>

but this review sounds kinda sketchy to me because first she states she purchased the 128 SM card.. then later on in the review she says she got the SM card for her bday.. what gives??

maybe she bought it for herself?

CHECK your order statuses!

my d-link got cancelled for some reason. a mistake on the part of outpost which they corrected when I called. Order late last night and will ship tonight (they told me). Seemed like a problem the rep was familiar with, so it might apply to others.

like i said before, plz post results with SM cards > 32MB if someone tries it out
