When I got my cable installed, the cable guy told me that the reason ATT hiked up the price for people that own their modem was because of D-Link cable modems. He said that they caused too many problems and had a lot of service calls. They found out that it was the modem that was bad and not the cable line. So I'm staying away from D-Link.

At the BB in Miami, I returned a opened Ethernet card (b/c I wanted the SpeedStream Router and I needed to buy a network card to qualify for the rebates) and I received a full refund.

Hmm, I was considering jumping in on this deal for my family, but now I have second thoughts about the performance.

The reason I'm bugging everyone so much is the router is for my sister, who lives 5 hours away from me and I need to ensure what I'm getting is good to go.

I don't know if you guys noticed but OfficeMax has the Dlink DI-704P Router for 59.99 with a 30 dollar mail-in rebate. Just letting everyone know. Which is about the same price as the DI-604, less than a dollar difference.

A final note to those who may have gotten in on this good deal. The router is rather new, and there has already been two firmware upgrades. The one I bought, and I assume the majority sold, have firmware version 1.1, which apparently had a problem which led to lower download speeds. There is now a version 2.0 of the firmware, which corrects this.
