There are a ton of new members. I wouldn't mind knowing who is who! Some TA member' s user names don't match up to their D2OL user name. You can PM your username to me, post it here and/or PM your username/email it to me if ya want. I promise NO SPAM or BS!. Some things we just don't want to announce to every Cow that reads this board.

If you are new and are having ANY problems with the client or just want to talk about the best way to cook a Cow, contact me. Well done or burned to a friggen crisp beyond all recognition are my favorites...

Oh, I am Shame here on TA (obviously!), TA_Shame on D2OL's forum, and a member of TA_CowTippers for D2OL stat purposes. My email is below.

My partners that are TA registered are:

Slapstick
Daaavo

My partners that are D2OL forum registered are:

TA_Slapstick <-- He keeps me politically correct! i.e "Are you nuts, Don't do/say that!"
TA_Daaavo <-- He holds up the Western Front!
TA_Twinkie <-- He is well, a Twinkie. (hehe)
Gizmo <--- Slapstick and I won him fair and square in a poker game. We will trade him for 2 AMD 2500 Bartons and 256 megs of PC 2100.

Well... I guess I more like sit between them and say "He said it's less filling!" "He said it tastes great!" and then let them go!

Just joined this project. Same username as my forum name

Actually installed it because i need something to make my chip work at 100% so i can test the cooling setup

This rig's a Barton 2800 at stock AMD cooling which in this muggy Singaporean weather where room temp is around 30 degrees celcius, rises to over 70 degrees celcius when run at default speed. Most annoying.

Will be installing Windows 2003 server later on this machine.

If things go well, i might get D2OL running too on my p4 2.4ghz laptop, a 1.8ghz p4 and an XP 2200.

-----------
18th March Update
The recommendation of all exhaust and no intake by AMD in their system cooling guidelines doesn't appear to work for me. My current barton chip runs over 75 degrees at default clockspeed and not even under full load. At 1250mhz (100*12.5) it runs at 57 degrees idle. At 1667mhz (Athlon 2.2ghz spd) it hovers around 60 and hits 68 max running D2OL. Installed a larger exhaust now 40 cfm instead of 30, added a harddrive cooler (those with 3 small fans in the front and is fixed in the 5 1/2 inch bays) which is positioned to blow outside air towards the chip itself and now the system temp dropped 2 degrees from before, (used to be 49 to 50 degrees C) and the CPU temp dropped from a constant average of 64-66 degrees C to right now 56 to 57 degrees C (With D2POL running too). Amazing what a little fiddling with the airflow does.
And atm it's not even running at the proper speed for a 2.8ghz barton, only 1667Mhz atm instead of 2075Mhz. I'm loath to bump it to it's default speed even now since the hd cooler doesn't come with any air filters (grr) and heat and dust are concerns where this rig runs (no air-conditioning, high-rise.

Makes one wonder what kind of ambient temperatures AMD uses to test the stock coolers that they ship with their chips. What about us poor turds who live in countries with friggin 30-35 degrees celcius room temperatures.....?

On a side-note, the other Athlon XP 2.2Ghz rig i have runs at 63 degrees celcius with D2OL running. Wonder how much longer this clockspeed race can go on without major changes. Otherwise we're looking at mandatory quality cooling required and the margin for allowing the newest chips to work at non-airconditioned places grows even smaller. (think of perhaps the example of Australia's heatwave; what happens to computers or servers which don't have the luxury of air-conditioned environments? Fried chips or servers which are shut down either on auto or forced.)

Makes one ponder on when they'll add a warning to notify buyers that the chips along with their stock coolers are only certified for use at an ambient temperature of not > XX degrees celcius.
<End of rant> Forgive me
