I was wondering if one of you could help me out.
I am building a new system (been awhile).
I have an Intel D975XBX2KR motherboard
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d975xbx2/
A MSI RX1950PRO-TD256E X1950 PCI Express Video Card
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=327717
A Fortron Source Blue Storm 500W Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104934
The power supply came with a six pin connector for PCIe cards but the MB doesn't have a header for it.
The main power connector on the PS is a 20 pin connector + 4 pin connector. Both plugged right in side by side. The +12v power connector on the PS was connected to the MB via a 2 x 2 to 2 x 4 adapter supplied with the MB as explained in the manual. No problem there.
The confusion is over the 4 pin (1 x 4) molex power connector header on the MB near the LAN/USB port on the back of the MB and the 4 pin (1 x 4) molex connector on the video card. I can't figure out whether both get connected to a 4 pin molex power supply plug or only ONE of them.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
John
