404 Disturbing not found...

I remember one time my dad came back from pheasant hunting and started to butcher the bird. He cut off the foot and when he did, some tendons were hanging out the end. My youngest brother (probably about 5-6 at the time) discovered that he could "pull the string" and the foot would grab things. Imagine mom's surprise when he made his pheasant foot pick up a pencil on the table! That was some funny shit.

Bottom line is, if you teach kids to be scared or fearful of things at that age, it lasts a lifetime. She wasn't doing anything wrong, so why make a big deal out of it?

On another note, I wonder if that squirrel started to run from that dog and thought "Boy, I'm in some deep shit on this one! Why is that tree so fucking far away?!"

I think it's cute, hilarious, and appropriate. You mother f'ers need to quit helicopter parenting your kids and allow them to experience the world, not protect them from it.

I have to agree with this. Helicopter parenting is a major contributor to the pussification of America.

Hear hear! I see them out at the bus stops and wonder how will those kids ever learn to handle anything?

So funny. Saw it a couple weeks ago and couldn't stop laughing.

Showed it to some of the wimmenz, and they were horrified.

Get a grip. The chances of that squirrel having rabies are nearly nil. The chances of that dead squirrel transmitting rabies to the girl are less than that!

As for ticks or fleas, the parent could see easily see any on her nearly naked body, plus she's about to have a bath.

Kids don't have true idea of death until around 6-7. To her, that squirrel was the equivalent of a doll.

The parents acted entirely appropriately BY NOT FREAKING OUT, and eventually getting her to voluntarily put the squirrel down and come in for an immediate bath.

Finally, as Nintendesert mentioned, she will grow up with a naturally strengthened immune system superior to some china doll kept indoors and helicopter parented to death.

Fearful parents raise fearful kids who become putty in the hands of fear-mongering politicians as adults.
This. All of it.

It's a squirrel that's been dead for like 10 minutes. The girl's not going to catch some infectious disease that could spread by her breathing in the fumes. Let the girl play and stop being a bunch of whiny mothers

How do you know how long it's been dead? Did you kill it yourself, while observing the little girl to know where to put it in a place that she would find it most easily?

They mentioned that the dog had just recently killed it. Furthermore, humans are programmed to avoid decaying things because we are not scavengers (ever wonder why the smell of compost is not appealing?). If the squirrel had been dead for a while (at least enough for decay to set in - which probably wouldn't have taken long considering that it was probably hot when the video was taken since the girl was partly in her birthday suit), she probably would have avoided playing with it.

Any educated response from the hamburgerboy?

I said nothing about "a while". You gave a fairly specific number. It could be three hours, it could be thirty seconds. You said ten minutes. What I want to know is how you came to that precise value. Furthermore, how do you know that it was her birthday? Last I checked you were Korean, and the girl there is clearly white. Are you a family friend?

I can't tell if you're serious, asking me if I knew it was her birthday. Always good to hear a "last I checked" when it comes to my background info

What you post on ATOT is not "background info".

All I am saying is that I am honored to know that you remember information about me considering that I haven't posted much here for the past few years. Always good to meet a fan

It died pretty recently, it's still in the floppy-dead stage, not the stiff-dead stage.

Those are scientific terms, by the way.

I just noticed dad seems to also take a quick zoom in on mom's cans at about 0:45

I came in to say this too. Too bad there wasn't more zoom. Or a lower cut shirt.

Anyway the way that little girl says squirrel is fucking adorable, haha. I hope they show her that video when she gets older. Epic lulz.
