It didn't really hit when she was actually born, there was just too much going on. Probably the most emotional I got was when we were in the hospital nursery and settled in for the first time we got to give her a bottle. I don't think I actually got to tears, but I was right on the edge of them.

I was emotional for both of my kids births. But I didn't cry. I was just sad that both my father and my wife's dad wouldn't get to see our kids born. Her father passed away from cancer when she was 18 and my father died back in 2002, shortly after we were married.

Thankfully my wife works at the hospital where my boys were born. I had tears of joy and amazement with the first. I was just as happy with the second but no tears.

I think I was pretty matter-of-fact. Partly because I missed any sleep the night before.
I was just glad to have the birth-giving process over with.
I cut the umbilical cord.

I didn't. I was in shock really, but had my wits about me enough that I wasn't emotionally demolished when she finally arrived. I'm probably more emotional about her presence now than when she was born, as weird as that sounds.

Same here.

When my little girl (my first child) was born, the nurses and I took her in the next room where they give her a shot, clean her up, put drops in her eyes, etc. I was standing in front of the little crib thing, and one of them told me "you can touch her, Dad".

I reached out my little finger, and she grabbed it.

Hell, I get almost as emotional typing that out as I did when it happened.

Didn't cry when the 1st one was born, and when the 2nd one was born I was at Chuckie Cheese with the 1st one for her birthday party.

Nope, my wife had to get c-section so when my son came out he was looking around at all the doctors. It was amazing. He whined a little when the nurse was cleaning him up.

I cried when my daughter was born because of it was an emergency c-section. I'm sure she and my wife weren't in danger, but I still was quite worried at the time. Didn't cry when my son was born (everything was a-ok), but got very emotional.
