daewoo black 17' lcd for $299 AR @ Microcenter

I checked it out at my local Microcenter. Brightness could have been better but for a first LCD this is a steal
for only $299. Get these while they last.

Microcenter in Boston has it for $299 AR for the current ad. I got one myself but I was disappointed. Words are smear in 1152 screen resolution. I can't find the review for this LCD. Does anybody has one and can give me some feedback?

Of course the words are smeared in 1152 rez -- you're supposed to use LCDs at their default resolution - 1280x1024 in the case of this 17" LCD. Then you'll see crisp, clear text better than most CRTs, even for this cheapo LCD.

Daewoo rebates throuh Microcenter are really bad. They get paid but take 5+ months...

Oops, I forgot to mention earlier. I did tried it at 1280x1024 screen resolution and LCD show this mode is not supported. I installed the driver and color maganament info. I also lower the refresh rate and color quality to 16 bits. The highest resolution it suport is 1152 resolution. It's either my Windows XP not working right or something wrong with this LCD.

This will be the first time I am doing rebate with Microcenter. Hope it come through all right.

For the $65 rebate:
Rebate is available when the monitor is purchased with any computer.
The rebate forms says that a copy of the microcenter reciept showing purchase of both monitor and a computer must be mailed in with the rebate form.

I didn't see this on the rebate. Which rebate was it the microcenter rebate? Cause I dont see that anywhere on the rebate form. Is it just me?

there are two monitors that look similar. the f207b requires a computer purchase. the f227b does not. the f227b actually does come out to 299. does anyone wanna chime in on the quality of this monitor or of the rebate center?
