I'm just starting to build up a new PC but only have the case and motherboard at the moment. LianLi PC60 case and ASUS P4B533-V motherboard. Buying more components next month.
I've set the board up in the case and wired up an old ATX power supply, when I switch the system on the power light flashes briefly then the system shuts itself down, PSU fan stops.
I realise I have no RAM or CPU yet and so shouldn't expect much, but I just wanted to see if the motherboard was working. Does anyone know if it's normal for the system to not power up with such few components? I took the P3 and RAM out of my old system, powered it up and the PSU kept running.
Any help appreciated.
