Ok people. I have officially decided to call myself fat. Im 6 foot 4 250lbs. I have about 20 to 30 to lose. I usually blow up in the winter because of the nature of the cold, and the food i eat with a lack of exercise. So, i figure there has to be more people out there like me. Who wants to join in? Lets get healthy OT!

I will check in tomorrow morning after i hit the gym and put my beginning weight.

I'm 5'10", about 167lbs. Ate pretty bad this past weekend b/c I was out of town in Pittsburgh, but over the past 2 weeks I've started a new cardio regiment to drop some BF%. I workout about 4-5 times a week so I'm not really concerned with holiday weight, but good luck to you and those in the same shoes as you!

yea, it doesnt help im 31. hard to get the old body to move like it used to. i feel like a rhinocerous. legs are muscular, arms too. have quite a bit of fat in the stomach area, but i can still see a bit of my old 6. more like a fat covered 4 pack now. i have to get back into riding shape for next year as my new gixxer will move alot better if im about 30 or so pounds less.

Im only 5"10 and im 240 pounds. Ill guess ill be able to join you for this month. I usually lose weight during the holidays and summer but end up gaining it all back during the semester. Last summer i was able to lose 35 pounds but i think i gained it all back again.

I gained 15 pounds a few months ago. Probably the beer/fast food/no more sports combo. I finally realized I had a nice little fat pouch. I'm 6'2 and about 188 now. So a few weeks ago I gave up soda and 75% of my fast food. I've also been working out for about 45 mins a day. I'm hoping to get down to 180 by New Years. Good luck to you as well OP.

Or just replace regular soda with diet. Drinking lots of water is always the best though because it helps your general health as well as weight loss.

Good luck dude!

I'm 5"10 and a solid 180lbs. Keep it up and you will drop weight. Esta smaller portions of EVERYTHING. Up your fruit (go easy on the bananas and if you do eat them don't eat them they are too yellow = too ripe = lots of carbs, the starch in the banana has turned more to carbs) and water intake.

I've dropped 3lbs but I haven't been training (injuryy) = not hungry as much. My hunger drops like a brick when I'm not training properly.

My mum dropped 15lbs when she learnt to swim. She swims 3-4x a week is 46 and is 108lbs @ 5"3. Not bad for a mother of 3 ahey?! Didn't take weeks mind you, took a good 6-8 months or so but it CAME OFF. Just be CONSISTENT and post in here or something silly to remind you to keep it up until you get to the stage where you are so motivated

Here's my weight history: I weighed 185 at the beginning of the summer, 165 and muscular at the end,

and now I'm up to 177 again in just 4 months, lol!

Between now and J term, I have 2 weeks off, my goal: lose 5 lbs.

I'll hit the gym after I finish my last final tomorrow

I found a few years back that taking beer out of my daily diet really helped too. I went from drinking a minimum of a half rack a day to maybe 3-4 cans per week. Lost like 40 pounds in just a couple of months

Ive just about quit beer drinking except once in a while. I drink wine. Red wine to be exact. Not much either. I may go through a bottle a week. Not one of those big ole bottles either. I have noticed a big difference in just that. Sodas... i never have been a big advocate of those. I just cant handle them.

More water, and more lean meats, and veggies and i will be losing a huge amount of weight. The problem is fitting the exercise in on a consistent basis. I have an 8 month old son that takes up alot of my time on my days off. The only thing i can do is go to the gym right after work. Then go home and sleep until my wife and him come home. Which is what i am going to do today.

Like i say, i will post my beginning weight in a little bit and report back here every day to put in my gym time and what i did.

I find it difficult to understand how some people can constantly eat so much food(not you specifically OP). Some people, at the first hint of a hunger pang, will scarf down a 1200 calorie snack. Man, I just feel better if I keep my caloric intake under 2000 a day. Easier to run from the cops that way. Though I will admit I'm a real skinny white boy.

Sometimes the answer to your question lies in the persons habits. I personally, traveled alot when i was in my 20's. I got to eat out at lots of different restaurants in Dallas, Austin, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Milpitas, San Fran, Hudson Mass, Marlboro Mass, Boston, Chandler Arizona, Orlando, Santa Fe, etc. Most of the towns that have anything to do with semiconductors. I became a food connisseur (probably spelled wrong). Also, i got to know wines. These things take their toll on people. You begin to enjoy a good meal. Your taste buds become your hobby. You dont have time for anything else.

I can see where people like that get heavy, and it gets out of control. I just finished traveling about a year and a half ago. I can now start to work on my weight i gained in that time period. Before i got into this industry i was 6 foot 4 180 lbs. I couldnt put a pound on.

Then again, there are some people that are just sick, and they just eat to eat. I cant see where people would do that....

Keep at it, you're doing great.

If you haven't already, be sure to hit the gym a couple times a week for weight training. Lifting weights is a great way to jump-start the metabolism.
