I stopped reading Dailytech when they turned into a politically biased site.

I read tech sites for the tech news, not to read political opinion pieces about global warming. It's a pity they let the site go downhill.

They have both articles and blog/opinion articles. Just stick to the actual news stories if it bothers you.

I seriously don't care much about ads. They take up some room, but I was always good at ignoring them back in the day. It's the tracking and malware dispersal that's an issue. I don't see that changing, so I'll keep blocking.

Same here. I don't mind a non-intrusive .jpg, but with ads being pulled from all kinds of sources even at reputable sites, using flash and javascript, the attack surface of your browser just increases exponentially.

There definitely is a bias in what they report, but they still have a good aggregation of tech news including automotive that i don't find anywhere else. Unless you want to wade through hundreds of posts at engadget like sites.

FWIW, Firefox is throwing up essentially the same message, IE10 lets you surf it like normal.

Eh their attitude problem is ultimately what killed it; letting Jason Mick run rampant like a child on a temper tantrum flaming people with retarded answers just shows a lack of professionalism. I don't know why they put up with him or if he owns the site or what but they should have canned his ass a year ago. A little house cleaning can go a long way.

I used to visit their site daily too. If I want tech news I stick with anandtech / slashdot / arstechnica / hardocp, and I have extra time I'll hit up gizmodo / extremetech. I stopped going to Tom's hardware for their attitude problem as well.

Hummm maybe that's a bit harsh, if they could make it so adblock = you blocked from the site I'd be good with that.

I also use extensions so they can't track me. Do you have a problem with that as well?
