I think the book/movie are literary classics and should be left alone, but there's a difference between something done 40-150 years ago and now. I don't see a parallel between saying "i" or "n" now and literature written nearly 200 years ago.

Grew up with flag burning illegal, it was a way to throw protestors (hippies) in jail, and claim their 1st amendment rights weren't abridged, don't agree with it then or now.

Hell, I don't agree with everything (I don't agree with most of his crap, TBH) Trump says, I'm a fan of the theatre of politics though. It's been funny as hell watching the reactions of liberals this cycle. We survived Nixon, Reagan, Bush, we'll survive Trump. I just want Hillary out of politics and someone I respect to be fielded by the Democrats.

It's a caricature of the way Natives are treated by the majority of Americans. As you personally demonstrated, as have others, you consider the treatment of the Native American protestors just.

When white Americans obstructed the Government whilst armed to the teeth with weaponry, they got a slap on the wrist. When unarmed Native Americans protested the destruction of the environment, and the poisoning of their fresh water, they were set upon with attack dogs and pepper spray; you condoned the actions of the security personnel that attacked the protestors.

And in this very thread, you, along with Buckshot and Imported_Tajmahal, supported the actions of the police using water cannons on the Native Americans, in freezing temperatures. You supported them using tear gas and pepper spray, and were rather quick to deem the protestors as terrorists. But not the brutalizing police, oh no, they're in the right.

I agree, but would they need to be damn careful, people in that part of the world are better with a firearm than most I've met, if gunfire erupts, it's pretty much game over for the protestors, and no one else needs to be injured, and no one needs to die over this.

Agreed, and the forensics aren't back yet, they may be waiting for her to file a lawsuit and then pretty much crucify her with the evidence, and prosecute her for perjury, if you notice, she's not saying anything.

Law Enforcement received information that protesters were using one-pound propane cylinders as explosives and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation with support from Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms recovered three of these propane canisters from the site of the explosion.

Investigators also collected rocks and glass jars consistent with the design of Molotov cocktails that were used as weapons against law enforcement.

If I was genuinely calling them the ol' "I-word", I'd understand the faux outrage. But when it's abundantly clear that it was a caricature of an anti-Native racist, and that I went at length do explain how such satire works to make a point, they focus on that one word and disregard all else.

Still haven't gotten a response back on Huckelberry Finn's use of the "N-word".

As well as the fact that these individuals happily use the term Indian, not to describe Indians, but Native Americans because they think they look the same.
