There's too much freaking drama in sports these days. Why can't it just be about a damn game? Why do we have to have coaches throwing shit and screaming in front of the press while a 6-foot 300lb grown adult male sobbing and crying in front of them because of how he played? Good lord

Sports is just full of bullshit high school drama queens anymore.

It was sweet. Although I hate the Eagles marginally more than the Cowboys, I am more afraid of facing the Cowboys in the playoffs than Philly.

You must have forgotten getting punked by Philly AT NY 3 weeks ago. Couldn't knock Philly out of playoff contention then, and I'm skeptical you could do it now with Philly's surge. Philly is the most dangerous team in the playoffs (along with SD and Indy). Read.
I think the Eagles immediately become one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs. If they can get past the Vikings in the Metrodome next Sunday, then they'll face the Giants again in the Meadowlands on Jan 11. The Eagles won at Giants Stadium on Dec. 7 and there's no reason they can't do it again. If you really want to get crazy, look at who they'd face in an NFC title game. The Falcons are the only team in the NFC that enters the playoffs with more than a one-game winning streak. This Eagles team has the talent to beat either of those teams. In fact, they already have.

But first things first, they will face the No. 6 defense in the league in the Vikings. But the Eagles are the No. 3-rated defense and they've won four of their past five games.

To me Philly is an on-off team without too much talent. They play well at times, but I am highly skeptical. I don't think they have a strong enough core to make it through the playoffs. But then again, I'm not a Philly fan. What's funny though is that I didn't rip Philly in my comment, I said I'm more afraid of the Cowboys, who have loads more talent than Philly, and could have been a powerhouse if they were able to get their act together.

Yup. Link.

Team sources told ESPN's Ed Werder that there was commotion and concern in the Cowboys locker room after the game when Romo collapsed in the shower. Players called for medical staff, who brought in a stretcher, but Romo walked out on his own. Romo then did his news conference but had to be helped from the podium. Sources said Romo suffered a rib injury in the second half, but he refused to answer questions about his health.

It was a GREAT football day. Recap (other than Cowgirls being exposed as suckage):

--I got to watch my homestate Lions achieve the epic fail.
--The Chargers rebounded from 4-8 to make the playoffs, lol.
--The Patriots became the 2nd team in NFL history to miss the playoffs with an 11-5 record.
--Chad Pennington played out the most perfect script ever, beating his former team with it all on the line.

So while it was fairly enjoyable to watch dallas be dismanteled, its quite unfortunate that the "city which should be a smoking crater" eagles was the beneficiary and made the playoffs.

Not sure how the NFC East is overrated, given that the Giants won the Superbowl last year and the NFC East had half of the teams in the NFC playoffs. This year they have 2 of 6.

well let me see...

the NFC east has 1 GOOD team, the giants.
Washington was a joke, philly made the playoffs because 3 other teams couldnt win a game, and dalla did an epic collapse fail.

Sure they have great "in division" slugfest games and great rivalries, but what division doesnt?

given the recent 5 year trends of the colts-jags-titans...I think the AFC South is possibly the best division in football right now.

BTW, anyone else loathe the importance of winning your division in the NFL? Kinda silly to me when the 12-4 Colts have to go on the road to play the 8-8 Chargers, just because the Chargers won their horrid division.

I understand the significance of division rivalries, but they should reward the best regular season records, and not winning just enough to become the champion of your pathetic division.

Wrong. If there's any division that is arguably better than the NFC east, its the NFC South.

Agreed. The Colts going on the road is atrocious. Even though I HATE the Patriots, they get completely screwed, and their fans deserve to watch them in the playoffs.

We need a straight-seeded playoff structure so the best 6 teams in each conference get in. I think that's the only fair way to do it.

Yes. But there's even a middle ground in this: they could still automatically award a playoff birth to the 3 division winners, and still seed 1-6 based on record alone (not taking into account division winners). So in this case the Chargers would be a very weak #6 seed, and forced to go on the road against the Titans.

Seems more logical to me than making the superior Colts travel to SD for a road game.

But yes, I feel for the Patriots fans. If you support a team all the way to an 11-5 record, you should be rewarded with some sort of playoff spot.

I guess you didn't have any clean hankies left after that 25 year national championship drought in every major sport?

Here's a 'Boys fan who agrees with the OP regarding the epic collapse. We need a coach who exercises discipline and gets the entire team to buy into his philosophy.

My only consolation is that the Patriots didn't make the playoffs.

No team with TO will win a SB. He's a cancer to his team.

On a bright note, the Cowgirls added Pacman!!! LOL, what idiots.

The organization makes stupid decisions. Period. The team hasn't won a playoff game since 1996? But you have their fans like Deeko saying they are going to win the super bowl. Get a freaking playoff win first...lol

nope, they failed last season when they fooled people into believing they were becoming a good team by overachieving with one of the easiest schedules ever

this season they just performed how they should have considering they lost their top two QBs and played one of the league's toughest schedules

Maybe Dallas can get Pacman Jones to shoot someone at a strip club. That would help divert attention from the rest of the team.
