WINNAR. This guy is becoming Al Davis all over again.

He needs to back the fuck off, and hire a football mind to take over personnel decisions. I hear Marty Schottenheimer is looking for such a gig. They won't do it. But Dallas would look a lot better for it.

Shit, I kind of want Marty to coach the Browns again, after we snag Pioli to take over Savage's post. But that won't happen either. We'll end up Pioli/McDaniels, or Pioli/Ferentz. Neither of which I would mind.

Wade Phillips: worst head coach in the NFL? What say you?

I would say Rod Marinelli is the worst coach in the NFL. I'd like to hear you argue that
Well, since Marinelli got the axe, the medal goes to Wade.

You are clueless and are just trashing the team you don't like. You have just opinions here and nothing else in support of your arguments. A typical sports talk radio show host could do better.
It must be tough being a Cowboys fan right about now. My empathies, amigo.

What? Romo was exposed for being hit by untouched blitzing defensemen on every play? What was he exposed for? Romo would be the starter on at least 75% of the teams in the NFL...you're right though, he totally deserved to be an undrafted free agent

By the way - your Giants are in the process of collapsing themselves, so I wouldn't start gloating too soon.
Too easy to point fingers at everyone but Romo. But so far, he has blown every big game he has played in. Be it a fumble or three, a pick or two, he has come up on the losing end of every big game he's played. His stats in October are great. Too bad for him the season plays on into January. Howdy Doody needs to understand that when Reggie Jackson was referred to as Mr. October it was a good thing. In the NFL, it isn't.

Who are these "others" that you talk about who said Dallas would win the Super Bowl. Just curious.

Vince Young led his team to the Playoffs last year. More than Romo did this year...LOL. Wait, Kerry Collins lead his team to the Super Bowl. LOL. He went from 10-6 to 13-3. While Romo went from 13-3 to not making the playoffs. The Titans overcame losing their starting QB, but the Cowgirls? Wait....wait....ok...here come the excuses.

Pacman played good this season???? He played only 9 out of 16 games. He was suspended for ANOTHER team/league violation. He's now on a NFL ZERO strike policy. Anything happens to him again, he's out of the league. He hit a bodyguard at a hotel bathroom.

Wow, you sound just about like every player on the Cowgirls team. You blame EVERYONE but yourself for the horrible play and picks. Your team is fucking retarded (as are you) and you can't fathom blaming yourself for it. Guess what, you can pick every excuse for your problems, but other teams can come together and play well. The Colts and Titans had no problems overcoming injuries. Enjoy your Pro Bowl?

HAHAHA, bitch. Enjoy your off-season.

W. Phillips is a marshmallow, he doesnt instill any discipline in his players, thats why they failed, not because of talent, not because of heart, its discipline. If you are 15 mins late to practice, to meetings, to anything without reprocutions then you deserve to lose, you deserve to fail. These team members that do this are taking advantage of him and there is no discipline, thats why they lost.

And for you football fans that think Phili is a flook you are mistaken, when they play to their potential they can beat any team in the league.

Last note: NFC East is the best team in the conference. Here's why, records show conference play mediocre except for the Giants (the best team in the league), youre telling me that these teams have overall win-loss records of 9-7 or 9-6-1 because of out of conference play, you must be out of your minds. The Falcons are 11-5 because their division with Carolina, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans was easy, give me a break how the NFC South is the toughest division.

Bah. The NFL has often been like this. You have 11 players vs. 11 players. If there are any mismatches or exploits discovered early in the game and the coaching staff can't analyze the failed plays, make adjustments on the field, and prevent new attempts, you're going to have problems.

So the game was a huge blowout because McNabb was on target the whole game, Romo was slightly off, Witten was suffering from sore ribs and a sprained ankle, and because after the lead was slightly extend the Cowboys were trying to make bigger plays...which just tends to encourage more pass rush and tighter man coverage with the safest. Witten only had 50 yards on the night and he's Romo's favorite receiver. That alone would give ANY other team a slight advantage... The Eagles rush defense is 4th in the NFL....their defense stopped Choice and Barber consistantly and left Romo with a lot of 3rd and longs situations. As long as they keep the pressure on Romo and keep tight coverage down-field, Romo wasn't able to find anyone open. He's almost as bad as Roethlisberger for holding onto the ball too long. Romo is still young and needs to learn when to roll out of the pocket and simply throw the ball away.

Don't worry about the Cowboys. They have the personnel. Jerry Jones is probably pissed that it ended like this, but it goes to show that it takes a lot more to make a team gel than high paychecks and good individual stats. The Cowboys haven't been the same since Romo was out for his thumb injury. Wade Phillips is a good coach, but I agree there may be a better option out there...I just don't know who or whether or not it's worth trading him out and taking more chances on getting a bad one.

With TO, Williams and Witten to throw to, none of them could get open? Either Romo is the issue(been horrible in December/playoffs) or the offensive play calling sucks which goes back to the coaches.

They laid a big egg and I LOVED IT! I am a huge Eagles fan and really think that Romo is way overrated. I thought that this past weeks game just showed all of that.

It made my weekend that both the Patriots and the Cowgirls missed the playoffs. I was the most happy about the Cowgirls missing out, although the Patriots missing was just the icing on the cake!

Best post in this thread. Sounds like you put a little thought into it.

First of all, I don't believe it has anything to do with Jerry Jones. He's shown the willingness to go out and get talent. I think he's done his job.

Romo, well, the jury is still out on this one. He's put together a pretty terrific regular season career. However, his play during the month of September and in the playoffs is baffling. Those calling for his head are crazy. It's super early in his career and I believe his experiences thus far have all been part of the learning process. We'll see if his learning experiences stick.

this. I'm not sure how many people outside the area know, but I grew up here and have faced nothing but disappointment. As a Cougar I have to go back to what, 1978 or something, to find a championship I like (Sonics, who incidentally just left town). I wasn't even born then. The only pro championships we've been to since were the 95 NBA games against Jordan in his prime and the '05 Seahawks who choked. Choked, just like the record-tying 116 win Mariners in 2001 who flopped flat on their back against the Yankees for the second year in a row.

Any other cities face such a trifecta of failure? What makes it worse is that our teams aren't perennial failures, we are usually running at least one contender yet none of them ever makes it all the way.

Nobody expected the Phillies in the playoffs in early September, yet they won the WS. I wrote off the Eagles off several weeks ago, after that game against Baltimore - now they've squeaked into the playoffs. The Eagles have the talent to beat any playoff team, the question is whether or not that talent shows up on any given sunday. Their inconsistency scares me.

Minnesota fan here. They're playing the Vikings, which are even more inconsistent than the Eagles. Who knows what'll happen?

Honestly, though, I was hoping the Cowboys would have made it to the playoffs so the Vikings could have the opportunity to beat them.

Jones needs to be an owner (just sign the checks) and stop pretends to be a GM/coach wannabee.

Hire a good discipline coach and let him does his things and get out of the way.

I love it because around here, a bunch of hop on bandwagons fans and I can't stand the self proclaim "American Team".
