That's interesting but not the point.
No, but it explains why I didn't hear that the officer's testimony as to what happened was considered falsified. I hadn't heard that on the news, i didn't read any newspaper accounts.

As I said, it was in very many tv news reports in at least 2 countries. One of those being the US. It's hard to believe that you were paying a lot of attention when watching whatever it was that you were watching. I barely watch tv and saw it referenced in almost every instance. <shrug>

Anyway, the main point is that the medical evidence as presented says she was not telling the truth.

I can't believe this woman got off with 10 years. Making a mistake doesn't make this any less egregious. I also don't see how this is called manslaughter: she intended to shoot and kill the guy.

Very well, i withdraw my objections. However, I did pay attention to the news stories on TV closely (SF Bay Area TV, both local and national news, likely CBS or NBC, probably both), and they didn't present anything suggesting her version of the events was in doubt. TV news can be infuriating, no question about it.

That be very, very true. One of the reasons that I've mostly stopped watching. Still watch the CBC and BBC news a fair bit though but even they're not what they used to be. Al Jazeera is quite good as well.

Can I get those services off the air? Maybe online? I don't have subscription TV. I have under 5mbps DSL right now but in 6 days they are set to install my gigabit fiber. Presumably that will help, at least for video.

She'll be out in 5 or 6. Maybe even return to the force.

Wasn't there another witness to events the night of the murder? That person had better go into hiding.

Completely agree. Too many shenanigans occurred during that investigation including not drug/alcohol testing AG for days. Also investigating the murder of the witness

'Deeply alarming.' NAACP wants Dallas police investigated after death of Guyger witness Joshua Brown

Looks like Joshua Brown, the murdered witness, was shot during a drug deal gone wrong. According to the police Brown was killed after an argument with one of three men from Louisiana who had met him in Dallas for a drug purchase. The police obtained a search warrant and recovered 12 pounds of marijuana, 143 grams of THC cartridges, and $4,000 in cash from Brown's apartment.

So much for the big bad police taking him out for testifying in Guyger's trial.

Right, a little pot didn't do it to make people think Botham Gene was the bag guy, so try again with a lot more pot!

Too late he already got murdered. Because of the marijuanas.

He lived his entire life not getting murdered over drugs and 2 days after testifying against a cop he gets murdered over drugs. Makes sense.

I do find it interesting - from the news media I've read they said Joshua Brown warned prosecuters many times that he doesn't feel safe (and thus why he had supposedly moved to California to avoid being killed). It said under pressure they forced him to come back to TX in order to give an eye witness account.

I mean, that sounds drug related in and of itself - but why would he return and continue dealing drugs? It sounded like a drug deal had PREVIOUSLY gone bad and thus why he was already in fear of his life... So why would he return to do another drug deal?

I don't quite buy the conspiracy theory that it's the Dallas PD - because there were tons of people that the prosecution called for witnesses - he wasn't even really needed that much from what I read (as far as getting a guilty verdict).

imagine, testifying against the police when you have 12 pounds of weed and $4.5k cash in your apt.

Also , apparently the killers drove for 4 hours to buy weed, then they killed him, and left the weed there...not suspicious at all....

Thats why I don't believe this is a "drug deal gone bad" it makes much more sense that a PREVIOUS drug deal went bad. This guy was asking for protection because they already attempted to kill him previously.

This guy isn't some innocent dude, at the same time I agree that the timing of this is substantial - and I am wondering why he didn't immediately leave after the trial since he was attempting to relocate to California because he didn't feel safe in TX.

if they don't leave the weed there then the cops can't find it
