DAMN Final Fantasy is a good movie, looks great

i seriously think the big screen and surround sound system is pretty necessary for a movie like this.. you lose a lot of detail when you cut it to monitor size.. even a decent size tv isn't so great..

Is this movie supposed to look like a cartoon or video game? The previews that I have seen make it look totally computer generated. Is it computer generated? I really don't know or are there real actors involved?

The movie is computer generated to every inch of their hair. I haven't seen it, kinda dissapointed that it didn't follow the FF series in the video games. Hows the story line? I hope it isn't another alien flick. I'll probably see it since I'm a big fan of Squaresoft.

Saw FF today, a must see for fans of the games (like I am ), considering H. Sakaguchi wrote it it came as no suprise that the movie seemed to be very similar plotwise to one of his games, its sorta like a 40 hour long game condensed into movie form... certain scenes are VERY reminiscent of his later games (ff7 comes to mind), which certainly is a good thing... def a must see...if at least for the cg.

There were times you could tell it was CGI and others you couldn't, it all depended on the scene.
Anyone else here think the Evil Character (sorry i forgot his name, thats what a 4 hour drive to see it will do to you) took a big big dose of Sieferd (sp?) from FF8?

well I've seen three different previews for the FF movie on tv. two of them you can tell that they are CG. the thrid one is a bit shorter but it doens't look like it was CG.

it'll be interesting to see what kind of following this movie gets.

and how many new FF fans the, FF community picks up.

Which one of the games would have liked the movie to follow? NONE of the games have a continuing storyline, just certain aspects that make you say &quot;Yeah, that's Final Fantasy alright&quot;. This was definitely a Final Fantasy movie, down to having a character named Cid

Yeah, I call that character Seifer myself. Not many of the characters were noteworthy enough for me to pick up their names. -shrug-

I'm sorry to rain on people's parade, but while the character CGI was amazing, the movie itself was boring, confusing, and at times extremely embarrassing. I admit I haven't played too many Final Fantasy Games in my life (I.E. zero), so probably there was some background elements to the movie that only the gamers would have picked up (I.E. Gaia, spirits, etc...). However, the dialog was so bad (&quot;Oh, it feels warm!&quot and the characters so stern and unemotional that I... I just am kinda pissed off at the whole thing.

I didn't think the dialogue was bad at all. The movie had several big name actors/resses playing the parts, and I feel they did very well. It was the characters themselves that were a bit stiff. Hey I'd like to see you animate those characters any better.

I suppose this was a brief lapse in my maturity, but the &quot;It feels warm&quot; cracked me up. It was kinda of a dumb line to end with though.

I enjoyed the movie overall, but I felt like I wa lost a lot of the way through this. Since I'm not a FF game player either, is their something that will better clarify some of the background in the movie?

I saw that movie today <on my b-day!!..18 now!>.

Anyway..I have never played any Final Fantasy games b4 so I had no idea what was going on...so my question is..what DID go on?? I understood deafeating the 'ghosts'..but thats it? And how could the ghosts hold on to things if they are ghosts? Couldn't they just go thru walls?

Playing Final Fantasy games does not help you understand, one game has nothing to do with one another. I thought the movie was very lame, and I love FF games

I just came back from watching Final Fantasy, and the best word I can come up with...is being disappointed. There are a few elements that make up a very good final fantasy game. A good plot, fighting with some sort of medival weapons, and magic. This movie failed on all of these aspects. The plot was terrible, fighing was basically all done with guns and magic was no where to be found. I could of survived the movie if there had been a good plot, forgetting that it was Final Fantasy, but Square couldn't even deliver that.

Square soft better stick to games. That's what they are best at. I can't wait to play Final Fantasy X, XI, and XII but I would prefer not to see Squaresoft make another movie.

However, I did see Spiderman movie coming up in May 2002. A little less then one year of wait.
