It's that time of year again...

Almond blossom

Almond orchard down the street

Apricot blossom

That means my lilacs should be blooming in a couple of weeks..

My favorite time of year here in California...almond blossom time...the apricots are also in bloom, and the peaches are about to bloom.

Smells good here too, but not like flowers. It's still too early for that. It was rainy today, and smelled like earthy spring. Very pleasant. I love the rain :^)

We had a shit-ton of rain a few days ago...supposed to get more this week. I like the rain...as long as I don't have to be out in it.
Of course, the almond and fruit farmers will be bitching...it knocks the blossoms off the trees and the cool weather keeps the bees in their hives instead of doing the work they get paid to do. (farmers rent bee hives this time of year)

I'm about 450 miles north of San Diego...and about 80 miles east of SF.

I'd love to live in San Diego...but it's too fucking expensive for me.

Yeah I'v noticed that. I have an uncle who lives out there and his $500,000 is half the size of my parents $300,000 house. A couple of my friends are finishing their 4/5 years at Camp Pendleton and plan on settling down around there plus the weather is kick ass. Tired of the hot / humid summers then icy winters. Fucking bullshit IMO

Unfortunately our trees are getting confused by the recent warm weather and things are starting to bud. I suspect a cold snap is coming soon which should destroy their plans of an early spring.

Same here. Bro-in-law has 500+ blueberry bushes that have started to bud. If we get a frost, he'll lose his extra $$.

We have some bushes too, but I don't know if they've started to bud or not. We got a huge crop from them last year so hopefully this year they won't be too stunted to put out some nice berries. :\
